I miss -

  • Hi everyone - I miss the "open in background tab"-option by right-clicking in the context-menu. I hope it will come in later versions?

  • Same here. I regularly read down an article, opening interesting links to more information in the background for later reading. I don't want to stop reading the article, or document I currently have open and having new tabs open in the foreground is a distraction. Having tabs open in the background is a must-have feature for me.

    Middle button, for now.

  • Ok, but not the best compromise for me - opens new window, not tab. Thanks nevertheless for the quick answer :) .

It's not a compromise is the faster way to do the task.

It becomes a compromise on notebooks equipped with just two buttons. Where the middle click emulation must be enabled once (in linux) was enabled by default.

  • ctrl+left click on link works faster as right click → menü → open background tab…

    Alexs,

Thanks for this tip I didn't know this shortcut. It helps alot.

  • I actually miss the plain 'Open' in the context menu. It comes in handy to avoid some unnecessary/unneeded JavaScript actions.

Well, I also miss a lot of things, really. I miss navigating by keyboard (shift + arrows), setting zoom to 100% on asterisk, and many other keyboard shortcuts, context menu for downloaded items, I miss the docked developer tool… I also miss what's not easy for me to admit, because it comes from the new Operas, and that's the device view in the developer tool.

Now that I think about it, I still miss a lot of stuff. But I'm damn well sure the folks over at Vivaldi also miss them, and are working hard to make it all happen again.

  • Currently, '6' will reset Zoom to 100%.
