Feature requests for 1.9 / 1.10

@luciothiago I want it at anywhere, not just in a webpage.
-
Date and time for the filenames of captured images
(instead of random letters and numbers). -
after select some text and click right button,
type 's' key to directly search , -
plz add option to toggle 'alt' key for showing the menubar.
i have ctrl+alt+p shortcut key ,every time i press the combination key,
the menubar will show..thats upset -
@Xpec1al I just assigned Ctrl + Alt + P to show/hide the tab bar. It works fine without showing the menu. I also have Alt+P for showing the Settings dialogue. The menu does not show up on pressing Alt — it shows up on releasing it.
The Alt key is the de facto standard for showing menus in Windows applications.

@Xpec1al said in Feature requests for 1.9 / 1.10:
This is probably a bug introduced when the Search With submenu was enabled. Previously, the access key "s" would have searched for the selected text directly, but now it toggles between Search and Search with, so you have to press Enter to initiate the search.
Copy to Note is also missing an access key (N would be good), and Fullscreen and Validate show no underlining, but F and V do work as access keys.
I have reported this bug as:
(VB-27138) Missing Access Keys on Right-click Menu

@Pesala ehh.. my ctrl+alt+p shortcut key is not defined in the Vivaldi, but defined in my Desktop Environment i3wm.
-
@Pesala hope it can be fixed in the next version XD.
even with the problems i mentioned above, except them,
vivaldi is really good-looking and fast. and the flash plugin wont
easily crashed like chromium.. haha.i love it. -
@Pesala What is wrong with the opening of the Find toolbar?
From what I see, F3 already behaves like you want (starting immediately a search on previous search string or on selected text), except the display of the toolbar. When you "ctrl+f" something, the search bar is displayed, and then you can navigate through results using F3. For me, hitting F3 directly is a shortcut to do the exact same thing, but without the 1st step of manually entering a search string. However it seems relevant to me to have the same behaviour (ie search bar) once the search action is started.

Please see how it works in Opera 12.17.

A button for installing extension from disk
It seems that the only way of installing CRX-extension from disk is dragging it to vivaldi://extensions page. Sometimes dragging is not a good option (e.g. when Vivaldi is running under another user account). Please add some button to vivaldi://extensions page for installing an extension from disk w/o dragging it (e.g. by selecting file in browse dialog or pasting its path). -

Show list of closed pages (recycle bin menu) as a mouse gesture command
Please add such a command for mouse gesture command list, it is quite convenient (I have RUL gesture for it in Firefox and use it very often - it is much faster than pointing to recycle bin button). -
I do not know if this feature was already talked about before! Search through web panel (like Opera 12). Image
-
Drag and drop functionality on the Downloads menu
Being able to drag a downloaded file from the Downloads menu (on the sidebar) to inside a website is the only feature I miss from other browsers now that Vivaldi is the only I use. Downloading a file and immediately being able to add it as an attachment in an email would be great!

Hope there can be option to toggle trash icon on the top right
-
Make pinned tabs permanent across ALL windows

@huhaa I absolutely second this feature request.
What I really really want is ANY chromium-based Safari alternative which properly integrates with iOS' Safari, which means, access to my iCloud keychain and access to Safari's Reading List Feature.
I've read somewhere this is only possible for a Mac Appstore application, which is the reason no chromium browsers support the feature anymore.
I'd gladly and without any hesitation shell out 20 Euros to any Mac Appstore app, including Vivaldi (which I like, but cannot use without the mentioned iCloud integration), which lets me have:
- A chromium based browser with decent extension support
- Full iCloud integration with iOS Safari
- Properly working developer tools (unlike Safari's)

When opening history, focus should be in the search bar.
I'm amazed that's still not the case, since the only real reason to open the history is to search for something. -
@Pesala I want the same thing! It's great to customize the speed dial's thumbnails as we did on Opera.
