Switch to newly created tab by default
This topic may have been up for discussion before.
Is there a way to have the browser automatically switch to the tab created by middle-clicking a link?
I'm on 1.8.770.9 (64 bit Windows) and tabs open in the background.
But MMB opens tab in background in browsers.
You can use Shift+MMB to open in foreground tab.
I've read elsewhere that old Opera's default behaviour was to open new tabs in foreground and I'm an old Opera user. Do I understand correctly that there is no toggle in settings to have foreground as default?

@seron In old Opera, middle-click also opens new tabs in the background. However, shift + middle-click lets you change the options
- The default for single-click is to open links in the same tab, but some links are hard-wired to open in a new tab
- The default for ctrl + click is to open links in a background tab
- The default for shift + click is to open links in a foreground tab
@seron MMB always opend in background in Opera 12.
The behavior you want can be achieved with LMB+Click on link and the tab will open in foreground.
Or use mouse gesture Dragdown on such link.
A feature to select how tabs are opened with MMB is planned.
Dragdown will work very well for me. Thanks!
