Thanks, it works. -
@Pesala This is being worked on as we speak

Knowing you have a problem is the first step to fixing it.
If the download is slow, you can see that from the progress bar without having to measure it with a measuring device that's about as useful as a tape measure made of elastic.
-
@henrypijames Take it easy friend, there is a high demand for such feature and it will certainly come. For now, you can just use the vivaldi://downloads page to monitor the download speed.
-
@henrypijames said in Feature requests for 1.8 / 1.9:
Have you just satirized your own argument?
No, I haven't. You can see that it is slower than expected by the lack of progress after a minute or less. You don't need to know exactly how slow to decide that you need to try an alternative method.

Add Google Cache to fetch unreachable webpage
Add option to fetch the older version of webpage when the latest version is unavailable, from Google cache; http://cachedview.com/; https://archive.org/web/; & other similar services.
If it helps, what I do is set custom searches in Settings, and I assign short nicknames. e.g.:
https://web.archive.org/form-submit.jsp?url=%s&type=urlquery
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:%s
https://archive.is/search/?q=%sThen if page a page doesn't load, I insert "a ", "gc ", or "ais " before the URL in the address bar and hit Enter. ("Search in Address Field" must be enabled, of course.)
(Of course, having a search nickname like "a" means that if I want to do a search for something like "a little princess (1986)" I have to type in "g a little princess (1986)" to explicitly trigger a Google web search, but I'm used to that, as I use the "a" for archive.org frequently.)

Corner Rounding in Themes Should Respect its Setting
In my theme, the setting is at the maximum of 14pix, but the setting is not respected on the tabs, nor on the speed dial thumbnails, where it is most needed, but it is respected on the New Tab button, and on the Speed Dial Titles.
-
Reorder toolbar in history page to make it a bit more user friendly
-
@atlemo Ooh! That's a nice surprise...

Agree - the rounding seems to be strongest in the places I least want it!

In Opera 12 there was a great feature called "blocked content", where you could enter URL's that where not loaded. I Think this is a very important feature and I'm looking forward to see this in Vivaldi.
If one would go a step further there may be lists of url's (to be used in "blocked content") for different usages - which could be attended by user groups (e.g. "no porn", "no ads", ...) - i think plug-ins for this purpose are not (open) enough -
The login username/password stored by vivaldi sometimes needs a third field to be stored.
There are some webpages which need a third field and this is always NOT filled out by vivaldi
(e.g. if a url needs to have username, id and password, I just get the entries for username and password auto-filled and have to type in the id each time I want to log in).
Opera 12 was storing the third field correctly. -
I'd like to see a setting "don't load objects that are smaller than #px" where "#" can be entered or selected.
-
@imp666 But this might screw up websites depending on your scroll level - or am i mistaken?
-
But whyyyyy?.....
This string (and some others) should be reworded or checkbox should be moved into group caption.
One of the suggestions:
"Enabled" => VB-21073 again and again...
-
@zaibon - yes, if you don't know what you're doing it may screw them up.
BUT if you know what you're doing you may really speed up website loading and remove a lot of spam and unwanted content or tracking -
Links panel as in Opera 12.17, so we can
- search links on a page
- copy all selected link addresses
- download all selected files
- open all selected links in new tabs
- copy selected link titles (not in opera 12.17 but would be nice to have)

@JuniorSilva30 in the meantime, there is a chrome extension that might work. It's called "snooze tabs" as well.

I did not know this extension, it seems very interesting, I'll test it here! Thanks for sharing!
