Freezes Vivaldi and crashes
Vivaldi 32bit + Windows 7 x64 …Yep! 3 times in 5 minutes, as I tried navigating across the page numbers at the end of each comments page.
Geez - no kidding. OOPS!!
-
-
If I press the fast-forward button on this page, Vivaldi makes my computer sluggish.
-
Clicking the navigation buttons at page bottom causes V to freeze and crash. W7 64bit.

This browser is so awesome!!! Thank you for making the true successor for us Opera Presto fans.
Really, the only thing keeping me from using it as my full-time browser is extension support!
**question: I can't seem to stack tabs when I have them placed on the left (rather than at the top). Is this a known issue? Also, is there a way I can donate money or my time to this project?? I'd love to file bug reports…is the only way to do so via these comments in the blog posts?

I'm pleased that each new version I install has more of what I want. Vivaldi is already much more to my liking than what Opera has become.
There are a couple of somewhat-related things that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere that I really want. One is the ability to not reuse the same tab when clicking on a bookmark. Having the page I was reading disappear because I decide I want to open a bookmarked site drives me crazy. The second is the equivalent of Presto Opera's f2, which lets you enter the address or bookmark nickname for a site to open in a new tab. I don't use SpeedDial and I see no reason have it come up first whenever I want a new tab.

No there are no chances of that. Presto is Opera's property. They decided to kill it and it has not been made open-source.
I am afraid, it prevents to reach functionality of original Opera, since from my point of view, that functionality is tightly links to the engine - Presto. So the only way to create a functional analogue of Opera browser is to create a functional analogue of Presto. Just like for similar reasons Unix fork BSD was born. I don't think it is possible to emulate all classic Opera browser functionality under much simpler engine. Actually we all clearly see that in Chrome Opera project. Do we need another clone of Chrome?

Looks really great. I switched today to Vivaldi as my main browser - let's see if it holds up.
I don't know how new the following are, but I love:
- that I can now use Chrome extensions directly from the store (LastPass, Evernote, Adblock are working fine)
- the site preferences (available when you click on the badge in the URL bar).
- the ability to pin tabs
- it seems faster
I still miss:
- RSS icon in URL bar and way to auto-subscribe e.g. in Netvibes or other clients
- customizable toolbar buttons (I never use the "Home" button)
Keep up the good work!

what exactly are you talking about? what exactly can't be done without exact web rendering engine like Presto?
-
Have you tried Vivaldi? Because I was skeptic as well, but Vivaldi is a huge improvement over Chrome. Been using it as default browser since the first tech preview, replacing Chrome. (Used Opera for years)
-
Seen it especially on this blogs comment paging. Mainly since the last update. (MacOSX and Windows 7 64bit)
-
Have you tried Vivaldi? I was skeptic about using blink as well? But Vivaldi is already much better than Chrome. Vivaldi has been my default browser since the first tech preview (replacing Chrome, used Opera for years).
-
I think not implemented yet, mis it every time I try to open a new tab. Sorry, my replies keep disappearing. I have tried to reply to you before.

Perform that gesture multiple times a day, without effect.
(Sorry, tried to reply before…)@mtaki14:
Anyone?

The left-click + drag down mouse gesture to open a new tab has not been working for me since release (left-click + down-right works fine). Is this a bug or just not implemented yet?

- Watch out for VB-3939 in changelogs.
- I did state this. But you are welcome to report specific scenarios that are particularly slow. Just general "Vivaldi is too slow" comments don't add any value.
- will be fixed in next version
- They are working for me so I guess next build should be fine. Speak up if it isn't.
- I'm following up on this internally.

Yes, Vivaldi needs to closed when updating. We know about this issue.
