Typed in history not being cleared.
-
If I type an address or search in the address bar then use ctrl+shift+delete to clear private data,
my typed in history is not cleared.
Chose delete "Everything" and selected all but passwords. If I use the history shortcut on the speed dial page and clear browsing data, everything including
my typed in history is erased.I don't have search in address bar enabled.
Can someone confirm so I can send a bug report if one not already sent. -
Hi,
I can confirm that I have the same problem, but on Windows 10 x64, latest stable build (1.5.658.44 64-bit) :
- When using the menu to clear private data, and ticking everything, typed history is not deleted.
- On the other hand, using the history shortcut as described by @CantankRus works.
Side note : it is not deleted either by CCleaner, but I suspect this is normal as CCleaner sees Vivaldi as Chrome, and the typed history seems specific to Vivaldi.
Edit : bug report filed.

Bug report number since it won't let me edit anymore : VB-23588

@IcePanther
How do I view the bug? -
@CantankRus - The bug tracker is not public.

Really?? Seems pointless reporting bugs if I can't easily find what's already been reported.

The point of reporting bugs is to get them fixed, not to watch them.

The point of being able to view bugs is to not waste my time or the developers time making duplicates.
-
@aesouza - That's correct. J S von Tetzchner's companies have had closed bug tracking for over two decades. It would appear that is the way it will stay, irrespective of the demands/complaints of outside commenters.
-
@CantankRus - Repeated/duplicative reports actually aid the developers in weighting the importance of a bug fix. Your report in addition to others in not wasted, but is added to the weight of the bug. I understand you don't like this mode of operation, but that is how this company operates.
-
Ok, I'm fully aware how this company operates.
