Independent proxy settings option inside Vivaldi than depending on some other or system proxy?
-
Why not Vivaldi develop a tab where in one can set Vivaldi's proxy settings inside it.
It remains independent of the other settings.
It will give user option to keep only this browser in one particular proxy.
Also, once one of the computers was affected by virus and its proxy inside IE was changed to some other site instead of a regular proxy. so net was not connecting. Only browser that helped was Firefox, as it allowed manually over-ridding the proxy back to original one and allowed antivirus program to be downloaded.
Kindly develop self-dependent proxy option. Its very useful.
Thank you. -
Vivaldi definitely should have it's own proxy config. Like FF does and Opera 12 used to do

Switching of only one tab might be problematic because, if I understand the process model correctly, the main process is the one that tells the others what to do, the renderer processes only render the stuff and execute JS etc.
... but maybe the following command line switches can help you in the meantime:
--proxy-auto-detect
Name says all--no-proxy-server
Don't use a proxy server, always make direct connections. Overrides any other proxy server flags that are passed.--proxy-bypass-list
Specifies a list of hosts for whom proxy settings are bypassed and use direct connections. Ignored if --proxy-auto-detect or --no-proxy-server are also specified. This is a comma-separated list of bypass rules.--proxy-pac-url
Uses the pac script at the given URL

Uses a specified proxy server, overrides system settings. This switch only affects HTTP and HTTPS requests
