Why is Vivaldi logging me off constantly?
-
Hey @Ayespy , yeah I guess... I'm nothing but surprised that I didn't know what it meant. I could have taken a guess and was considering testing with that option on/off in relation to my logging-off issue. I feel pretty dumb right now... but thanks for explaining it, all of you!
-
@losers You're not meant to feel dumb. It's just that the developers can be forgiven for assuming that people know the meaning.
-
@losers This is happening to me too, if I close the browserfor even a few seconds. It's not consistent - gmail logs me out but Google calendar keeps me logged in.
I wonder if it's related to the version of Chromium that Vivaldi is using and we've fallen victim to the bug reported in Chrome here:

@abominabledrh Do you have "session only" cookies set? Did you read the entire thread of the topic prior to your post?
-
@ayespy I did. I don't have cookies set for "session only".
-
@abominabledrh Do you use any extensions? Do you have any "cleanup" software running on your system? Have you changed any flags? Vivaldi does not, on its own, remove cookies before their expiration date. It simply does not. I stay logged in here to all of my sites all the time. So does almost everyone. So something local to your particular situation is causing this.
-
same issue here but its only with certain sites, reddit for one, but that could easily be reddit which is a bit of a mess at the moment.
-
@ayespy Just to close the loop here - I'm quite prepared to accept it was something in my system causing this, but whatever it was went away without any action from me. I stopped using Vivaldi for a week or two and when I can back to it this had stopped. No changes to my system and no upgrade to Vivaldi.
Thanks for your input.

Hi!,
This issue still exists in 1.15.1147.64 (Stable channel) (32-bit). Running in Xubuntu 18.04.1 32-bit in VirtualBox VM.
Please Fix it. I love Vivaldi
Thanks.
