I also like to see what's going on.

  • For me, a page size and loading speed in kb/s in adress bar would be sufficent. :)

    EDIT: or on bottom bar.

  • Yes the text info can be on bottom bar there is plenty of space for it. And the adress bar can stay as it is now that is nice visualization that ppl know from mobile browsers.

  • +1 for the advanced loading bar popping up at the bottom as in old good Opera.
Or I believe that you might find a way to make it even more informative/powerful.

One specific new thing that was missing in Opera was that when a browser gets stuck on connection to some server (like an ad/tracking service), a user could click on the progress bar and choose to add this server to the Ignore list. From now onwards connections to this server would be skipped by Vivaldi.

  • As someone who has a slow connection, I really like having the transfer speed available.

The pop-up at bottom option from Opera 12 is a great feature.

The few times I've used the new Opera I click on a page and don't even know if the browser is doing anything.

indeed, would be nice to see some info like that :)

  • I definitely concur, Bubak. I already mentioned in some other thread that as a user of Dial Up Internet myself, I would definitely love to see the return of the SUPER useful Extended Progress Bar that would pop up at the bottom of the page on original / Presto Opera. Yes, on Dial Up, a simple Rotating Ring indicating loading progress is next to useless. I want to see the SPEED indication and the Elements indication so as to get a much better idea whether it's a load I need to abort and try again … or even quite possibly abort and do without if it's a load that's going to be Brontausaurusly huge.

Indeed. +1 It was killer on old Opera.

  • It's a nice idea.
