LastPass+xmarks or similar to cross-platform sync passwords and bookmarks
-
I'm considering finally leaving Opera behind, so obviously my first thought is to try Vivaldi. However since Vivaldi doesn't have its native sync function yet, and no Android app, I'm wondering if anyone is using LastPass+xmarks or some other 3rd party apps to do that, and how well do they work, can anyone suggest anything? I'm running Win10 on PC, Lubuntu on laptop and Android phone, so would also like a recommendation for an app that would work well on Android. Mainly I just want Pass+bookmarks syncing, history syncing is not necessary.

I've been using Lastpass without any problems in Vivaldi. There is only one security setting to consider. When you first install Lastpass and login for the first time, it takes quite long to actually log you in. After that you need to open the lastpass menu, go to "more options" and "about Lastpass".
That page should show you if the binary component is active. There should be a button to allow the extension access to that component. After a restart of the browser, check the setting again and follow the instructions on the page to install the binary component (if not already installed via chrome).
With that installed and allowed to be used by Vivaldi, Lastpass works flawless.
For bookmarks I always used Delicious. But since they suck now, I moved my bookmarks to the way better (pay) service Pinboard which also comes with a nice extension that works perfectly.

I'm using KeePass + an extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chromeipass/ompiailgknfdndiefoaoiligalphfdae - takes a while to config but once it's setup, works beautifully.

Xmarks doesn't work for me (with Vivaldi) so i'm happy with the basic free Diigo version for bookmarking.
LastPass is just perfect for my needs.

True, I use Last Pass for a password and Atavi for bookmarks,. No problem at all they look working very good, Ah and for open tabs in other browsers I use One Tab. It can even function as a very practical bookmark. Those 3 extensions are basic for me. I had tried so many ways with Firefox. From over 100 extensions I Use to install before. Now I just use 6 of them. Worse still, having a lot of problems in Mozilla, except the developer version, the others were freezing the whole computer, thanks to Java, I always was blaming Flash Player, my mistake. That's the reason I started looking around installing browsers, extensions. Till now Im feeling such a relieve with Vivaldi. I can open more than 100 pages, and have no issues at all.

Speaking of Java... have been having issues with LibreOffice full version on Windows 10 - not so when using the portable app version on usb.
Do believe it's a Java related issue there as well.Btw, with regards to LastPass, i don't use it for anything more than username and p.w., especially now that security experts know that webpages can be tricked to have LP fill in blanks for you that you can not see (bank account info. credit card etc.)!
Ill-willed hackers are always on the go.
