Audio desynchronizes from videos if I move to other tabs.
-
Can you try to reproduce the issue right now?
- Open this site:
https://www.b98.tv/video/baby-puss/
or any other that plays media. Play the video. - Open another tab and do some other stuff in it for like one minute.
- Go back to the tab that plays the video. Is the audio synced anymore?

After a while 3-4 minutes the audio does no relate to image.
Please report it. -
Are you related with the @DoctorG account?
-
Had you installed any extra codecs package in Windows 11?
-
@pilis Yes, it's me, i use it on my Linux PCs.
-
No, the only media players I have in my PC are MPC-BE and VLC.
-
@pilis
I cant belive it but with the Baby Puss video I can reproduce it.
Please include the link in the bug report. -
Alright, I'll do a bug report then, now it got confirmed
-
@mib2berlin Good, i just thought the cinema's film/audio tracks could have been made faulty and then badly digitized for video stream.
-
Done. The bug is now: VB-116250
-
@pilis Confirmed.
-
Here is the same issue but with another website,
wco.tv
.You can see a recording showcasing that issue also on that site, here:
https://streamable.com/rqopijAt 0:53 you can better notice the audio getting skipped/fast-forwarded for like two seconds.

-
One more update: I tried many times to see if YouTube is also affected by this issue and surprisingly, on YouTube this doesn't happen. So it must be something with non-Youtube websites.
-
@pilis
You can add information in reply of you confirmation mail, it get's automatically included in the report then. -
Done ^^
-
My guess: could be a regression for AAC encoded audio tracks.
-
Happens for me also in:
Chrome 135.0.7049.42
Chromium 134.0.6998.178
Brave 1.77.95 (Chromium 135.0.7049.52)
Edge 135.0.3179.73Does not happen in:
Firefox 137.0.1
Opera 117.0.5408.197 (Chromium 132.0.6834.210)So I don't really see how this is a Vivaldi problem?
My take: Crappy pirate sites need to fix their players to work properly...Edit: Also try to avoid directly linking to illegal content please, we don't want to give these scummy sites better search rankings.

Sorry, but the other members wanted to reproduce the issue and I had to gave them the links.
Anyway, this is confirmed to be actually a Chromium issue:
https://issues.chromium.org/issues/404464587But luckily it was fixed in Chromium 136.
