Address bar fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3610.4
-
Hi folks,
Is it just me (maybe), but with this release, bookmarks top menu bar is not working at all (pressing top right >> button does nothing) -

Not a fact since I have never visited that site, ever. And I clear my history daily. That site is not being suggested by any behavior on my end
As I said, you can see where the suggestion originates from on the far right of the entry. What does it say?
This learning behavior also begs the question, that if I clean my history regularly, how will the browser be able to calculate anything (frequency, recency, etc.)? Will it be starting from scratch every time?
Good question

@iAN-CooG Please report issue to Vivaldi bug tracker, include as much detail as possible.
Once that is done, share the bug number (beginning with VB-) you got by bug report mail.Please read blog article, If you like to know about "A bug’s life at Vivaldi".
Thanks for helping us making Vivaldi better.

No and No.

I haven't seen any notes on it, but is it a known issue that Webpanels don't work anymore with this and the previous Snapshot? Or is that just me?
They just eternally stay in "Loading..." state.
I've since also rebooted the PC so I don't think it's any zombie processes being in the way. -
@mihawk90 I see no issues with 7.2.3610.4 Win 11 and webpanels.
Please check with disabeld extensions.

All disabled and restarted Vivaldi, same thing.

@mihawk90 Which Windows version?
Which URL have the panels? -

I have 2 internal urls on the side panel that always show "Loading..." as title
vivaldi://serviceworker-internals
vivaldi://extensions
other than that, the other show their title correctly. -

@mihawk90 Which Windows version?
I'm on Linux (Fedora 41)
Which URL have the panels?
It's multiple panels:
- https://social.vivaldi.net/home
- https://gw2timer.com/?page=Chains§ion=Timetable&mode=Mobile
- https://www.garlandtools.org/bell/
- https://play.pretzel.rocks/home
- https://apexlegendsstatus.com/current-map
And another one is a local IP (dashboard for my NAS).
All are the same, and all URLs are reachable and can be opened in a tab.

It's not just the title. The panel content never loads either.
-
@mihawk90 I've just added https://play.pretzel.rocks/home to test, and appears working for me, Title got updated to "Pretzel Rocks" and the page has a "sign up for a Pretzel account" and so on.
-
@mihawk90 Vivaldi as Snap or Flatpack or RPM package?
-
@DoctorG Using the RPM.
Also interesting... just for shits I just added another panel using the NAS-dashboard URL and that is working fine, but the existing panel is still borked... WTH
edit:
And now 3 more panels (GW2timer, Garland, and Pretzel) just randomly started working... what is happening o_O -
@mihawk90 No issues as webpanels in Windows 11 and Debian 12.
May be some extensions disturbing use of webpabels.
