Migration from Seamonkey
-
Hi guys. Long time Vivaldi (occasional) user, first time poster here. As a die-hard Seamonkey user, it's time for me to admit that browser is pretty much dead and move on. I don't like Blink based browsers, but Vivaldi looks pretty nice. The thing is, I have tons of stuff in my Seamonkey profile, with no apparent way of importing them. Since Vivaldi can import Firefox profiles, is there a way to import Seamonkey profiles as well (since they're pretty much the same thing)? I'm thinking of copying my Seamonkey profile in Firefox's folder, maybe that will trick Vivaldi into importing? Not being able to import all the stuff I've been hoarding for years is kind of a deal breaker for me. The other one is (lack of) proxy settings, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. TIA

What sort of "stuff?"
Bookmarks?
What else? -
Bookmarks, saved passwords, browsing history…

You can export bookmarks to HTML and import that file.
You can move passwords and history to firefox and TRY to import them, BUT - passwords are probably encrypted and may not survive the transfer in readable form. PLUS, Firefox has recently change their database structure, causing Vivaldi imports from that source to quit working. So if your Firefox version is very recent, the import won't work anyway.

Firefox I don't use that much. I can't stand the dumbed down settings.
Moving the Seamonkey profile to Firefox doesn't work either, Vivaldi's importer always shows the Firefox profile only. Even if I move FF's profile. Probably reads the folder from the registry or something. I'm going to try moving Seamonkey's profile into FF's profile folder, maybe I'll have better luck. And since Seamonkey hasn't been updated in 6 months, maybe I get lucky and the DB is still readable.
