The Flashplayer didint work yet pls fix it
Vivaldi and all other Chromium based browsers will now only show flash if you have the 64bit pepper flash plugin. This means you must be running a 64bit version of Linux. Get pepper flash from the repository for your Linux distribution.

Pepper Flash Player is maintained by Google, and is newer than Adobe Flash Player. Adobe currently still provides security fixes for Adobe Flash Player. Google provides newer features in Pepper Flash Player. Pepper Flash Player can currently only be used with Chromium (and with Chrome).

Every time I get an Opera update I have to add this line to:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera-beta/resources/pepper_flash_config.json
"/usr/lib/pepflashplugin-installer/libpepflashplayer.so"
I'm not sure why but I seem to have the libpepflashplayer.so file in an unusual location. Anyway, which file do i also need to edit for it to work in Vivaldi? -

That's my impression too. This may not go over well with the constituents, but I'm not sure that pepperflash can be used outside of Chrome/Chromium. The Adobe agreement is with Google. So, splitting off the player from Chromium probably doesn't fly, at least in the U.S. I'm not a lawyer, so I can't be authoritative on the issue. But, go ahead and read the mailing lists on Debian about this. They don't know for sure either. That's an opinion based on my reading of mailing list member posts, who may or may not be affiliated with Debian proper. Does my disclaimer prove I should have been a lawyer? I think the posts in that list derive from a license that is so convoluted as to require a real lawyer. Again that's my opinion, FWIW

The HTML5 support in Vivaldi is excellent. I haven't had any trouble on YouTube with just that, and no flash. Maybe it's not necessary any more.

I thought he has a problem with Flash. Ther is still a lot of websites, that uses Flash, you know. Try Firefox, works fine.

Yep, you're correct when you say there are still many flash sites. I haven't, in the past, been completely adverse to doing some action script myself, and for a time I ran a totally-flash website. But - I've been more vigilant about reading security advisories lately. I've changed my mind about a lot of things that are security related and browser related. Add to that the legal issues, and I guess I'd be an advocate of the idea of weaning oneself off of flash. I usually don't use flash anymore in spite of the inconvenience caused by some sites. I made a suggestion to the OP, in effect. After only two days with Vivaldi, I have much less inclination to use FF (or chromium for that matter).

Mageia does not have a package for pepper flash - I had to install Chrome (from the Google website - Mageia didn't have Chrome either) to get it. And yes, it does work that way - at least in Opera.

I have the same sort of issue, Phiznlil; Pepper Flash is installed, but Vivaldi doesn't seem to be able to find it.

It's actually kind of strange. Vivaldi is finding it okay, but the version number is listed wrong.

So I renamed the directory /usr/lib/pepflashplugin-installer/ to /usr/lib/PepperFlash/ and now it works in Vivaldi

Thanks! This enables it for me too. Try a soft-link instead, so any package updates work properly.

You'll want to upgrade that to the latest 16.0.0.442 ASAP since earlier versions contain multiple extremely serious security flaws, some of which can be exploited even on linux.

That was why I updated …
It i a shame Mageia has no pepper Flash package nor even a Chrome package, forcing me to go to Google to download the full Chrome package just to have the current version of Flash. (They do have a package for npapi Flash of course.)
