How to get tab count back. There's just a smiley face?

I can't find anything in settings but I'd like to be able to see the tab count again. It's normally a number in the little icon. Now it's just a smiley face...

Hi,
This happens when more than 99 Tabs.

On older version, we were able to see the counter on the Tab Switcher but seems gone now.

It's been like that atleast on chrome for a while.

Thanks for the info @Zalex108 and @Veddu at least I know what number I'm over now. I hope it goes back since I'm criminally bad at tab management and one of the things that guilts me into sorting it out is the number open.
