Vote for your favorite feature!

Help us keeping an overview of all your request by voting for your favorite feature.
Therefore:
- go to Features request
- add only one feature per reply if it's not there already
- vote for it as shown below
Thanks in advance for your help!

That 1.6 requests thread quickly became much too long to read through and vote...
Looks like we still need some better way - maybe separate threads for different request categories, or one thread for submissions and then the next week you guys list a bunch of requests which we can then vote on.
-
It's already a huge improvement on what we had before.
Please implement all of the top requests a.s.a.p. then release 1.6 before Christmas, so that we can start a new thread for 1.7

you mean for areas like "UI", "tabs managerment", " bookmarks" and so on and distribute threads related ?

Yeah, that's what I meant.
The other point was for the team to sort through all the similar requests and produce a list of options for us to vote on. Maybe it could be combined - submission threads for UI, tabs, bookmarks... then after a week or so those threads get locked and the team opens threads (in the same categories) each with, say, 20-30 pinned comments with options we can vote on.

good idea, but I think to wait for one week can be much (or not?) maybe for some days and then is done the threads with the comments to upvote. And that way is done the work to the current version with the most voted features.

13 days since the 1.6 feature thread opened and there are still people posting on it... I think any shorter than a week and some people will be angry they didn't have time to submit a request.

Good point. One week is ok.

Universal corner rounding. I would like to set a universal value of my choosing(ex. 4px) to set as the border-radius of all rounded corners in Vivaldi's UI. The reason is that some of the rounded corners are not rounded enough. I loved when 1.3 first came out and Speed Dial thumbnails were nicely rounded. Now, they're hardly rounded at all even if we max out the corner rounding. So I think allowing us to set a universal value would be great.
-
If not a universal value, then at least make the SD thumbnails, tab thumbnails, tabs, more rounded. Like 4px minimum. Some people like myself really like that rounded philosophy of design.
-
A good idea: A consistent tiled tab, that stays tiled alongside whatever tab(s) you pick on the other side.
-
Another idea: A video popup for sites like YouTube, where you would see the video popup in the bottom right corner of the browser for example, and you can browse other sites while watching your video.
-
@D0J0P Add a YouTube panel. The problem with a popup is that it obscures the page, while the panel does not.
-
@Pesala Woops, I thought I was posting in the 1.6 Feature Request thread. I'll go post my requests there.

How about you tackle the most severe bugs and security/privacy issues first, before adding new features? Typed-in URLs and searches are not being deleted by erasing browser data. The developers seem to know about this privacy issue. This has persisted since the Vivaldi release candidates. Now, it's 1.6. How many more versions are you gonna release before you eventually fix this bug?
-
@BernardKay - there are literally thousands of unfixed bugs. But you would not demand that a child stop growing until they get over a cold. In order to increase its reach, the browser must continue to mature toward its ultimate goals, or die on the vine. Stagnation would curtail its appeal, while one of the things reviewers are most enthusiastic about it its development speed. Bugfixes will continue apace - and so will development. Free software only has a short time to capture the imagination, and it is features that will do that for Vivaldi. I, for one, will forgive a multitude of sins bug-wise, so long as the features I personally need exist and work, or are under active development.
-
@BernardKay Try deleting the history from this page: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData (or use the button on the History page) - this way I was able to clear all the typed URLs and searches in every version of Vivaldi that I used (since the Technical Preview).
-
@pafflick - Thanks for the reminder. I keep forgetting that for the moment there are two completely different "remove private data" interfaces - and that the old one is the only one that, as yet, has complete functionality. I have no need of this function, and so pay it little mind.

Make the settings for javascript: enable/disable on a particular site

It would be really nice, to see a table of the top voted items in these calls, with check marks against those which were actually implemented in the release. As others have said, the lists are too long by the time voting is complete, and then looking at the release features it's not obvious how they relate to the voting. This mechanism is not obviously working, in other words.
