Hey, I just reported this bug after others confirmed it on Reddit. I only found this thread afterwards. The bug reference is VAB-5950, I hope it'll be helpful.

I am having the same problem as OP on any version of 5.3 on Android 12. All external app redirects are broken even with the "stay in browser" option OFF in settings. The is extremely frustrating for apps like Teams and Zoom, which I use constantly throughout the day.

Hi, you can ask about the status of the bug report in the bug status thread but I guess it make not much sense to ask now because it is very new.https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/27450/what-is-the-status-of-vb-already-reported-bug-issue/
Cheers, mib
EDIT: You can install the snapshot build, there it is still working.
The install is independent of your stable install.

Are you sure about that? Because I'm using snapshot on android 12 and I'm still facing all those issues
EDIT: ok YouTube links open correctly, but all the links to reddit, Instagram, Twitter, telegram and other apps are not working at all for me. Moreover the possibility to highlight a link and "open with" is also missing since the last update.

@ZPeppe
I cant test these apps but as Youtube work for me I guessed it work for other apps, too.
I am sorry for false information.Cheers, mib

Hi,
Before the update (not the newly released one), I could open YouTube vanced via links from the Android browser but can't anymore even with the new update. Anyone else facing this problem? I am using a Google Pixel 6 Pro.

@mib2berlin hi, what is snapshot?

@wilpang
This is the Beta version of Vivaldi you can install it independent to your stable install on Linux and Android.Cheers, mib

@pafflick Thank you! I got the update today, it seems to be working for me.

Seems the issue is back.
I'm facing it on Android 14 (Galaxy S23) for a couple of weeks now. -
Just installed a fresh Linux Mint Cinnamon on desktop. I also installed Vivaldi but I am unable to open links from external apps (VS Code, Discord, and Thunderbird all just throw me to the "vivaldi:welcome" tab). Mobile app seems to be working, though.
Edit: Just tested this on my freshly-installed Vivaldi for Windows 11, and it is also broken there (tested Discord and the Outlook app).
