Macy's: Can't place item in bag
-
I can view Macy's website just fine but when I try to place an item in my bag (after logging in), I can't. When I click the red enter button,
I get three moving dots that stay that way forever.I can Add to List though. If I go there on Opera 12.18, I have zero problems at the site and can easily and quickly place an item in my bag. After I posted this, FINALLY the items got put in my bag. That though was because Macy's saw the items there from Opera 12.18 I think as I only tried to put one item in my bag on Vivaldi but there are two in there now. I am logged in on both browsers to Macy's.I tried to add a screenshot but got an error saying "unsupported mime type"? I have no idea what that means as I have been uploading these screenshots for many years on all my browsers with never a problem. I use PrintScreen software and it works on every Windows version from XP to Windows 10 except here. Wow! How strange. Ahhh...I see. This forum won't allow PNG but likes JPG? This is the first site I have ever encountered that wanted JPG instead of PNG. Why does this website want much larger images?
I can't see the tool set for this compose window either. I just see 9 little blank squares. Mouse hover tells me what they are though. Plus, why is there no blank space to type the title in? Why would I be expected to know that I am supposed to type on top of the text about the title? That's very confusing and, again, something I have never seen at a forum from 98SE on until now.
I did use Stylish to change the unvisited link color to one that doesn't make my eyes burn and sting like the default one does. I don't see why that would affect the Compose Toolbar from appearing properly. I don't think that would affect putting an item in my cart at Macy's either.

Regarding your problem at Macy's, I cannot really help without an account there. Do you have any extensions installed that might be blocking ads etc.?

I never had any issue posting images here, and I always use PNG because they are smaller than JPG, and sharper for many screen shots. JPG is good for photos but very bad for text and dialogues, or images with few colours.
Pasting a screen shot is not something I have tried before. Let's see if it allows PNG. The filename says that it has been resized, so that would be an issue if your screen shot is a whole window.
My pasted screen shot above has been resized to make it bigger. I strongly recommend saving screen shots to disk first, then upload them using the Up to Cloud icon on the right of the toolbar. See the tooltips on hover.

Try changing file's extension to lowercase, like eg.
screenshot.PNG
toscreenshot.png
, this forum for some reason does not recognize files with uppercase extensions...@Desiree said in Macy's: Can't place item in bag:

It depends on the picture contents. When it comes to photos, PNG files are much, much larger than JPG files.
About the problem you described - you haven't posted any url where the issue occurs, so don't expect to get too much help. I googled "macy's" (as I never heard of it before) and I went to some shopping website called Macy's (I assume it's the one you've mentioned, even though it looks a bit different from the one from your screenshots) and I tried to add any random item to my bag and it worked fine (Vivaldi Stable 1.5.658.44, 32-bit on Windows).

Gadwin Printscreen is a Windows program going back at least to Windows XP. It uses the Printscreen key on a Windows keyboard and I have it set to use .png images because they are by far the smallest when you are capturing a rectangular portion of your computer screen. These are NOT photos. I repeat that I have never had a problem in at least 15 years using this Windows program on a variety of Windows versions except at this one forum. The screenshots are saved to D:\Printscreen. I do use an older version of Printscreen because I FAR PREFER its GUI to the newer version's really lousy GUI. But that has not posed a problem on any browser on this computer for the past four years since I got this computer so I don't know why that might be a problem on Vivaldi.
The latest whatever is not always the best and is frequently the worst and that goes for anything that insists that only the latest is acceptable including browsers. I know a lot of folks still using XP Pro and it is the best Windows of all and I would be using it instead of lousy Windows 8.0 Pro if my XP Pro computer had not died. The reason I am using Vivaldi is not because it is so new and shiny but because it is supposed to be the closest I can get to Opera (the real Opera) that was the greatest browser ever created.

Sorry. Macy's is the largest department store in world but I guess I should not have assumed everyone has heard of it. http://www.macys.com/ You have to have an account and sign in and then you can shop there and place items in your bag for purchase or to see if the items are in your local Macy's store so you can reserve them and go get them. Thank you for trying what site you thought I meant and putting something in your bag. I have the same version of Vivaldi on Windows 8.0 Pro (do not tell me I must use 8.1 as I will not do that and don't plan to ever get spyware Windows 10). I did eventually, after way, way too long a wait (30 minutes or more on a 200mbps down connection) see the items in my bag. I left the tab open and went and did something on another tab and finally came back but that was after waiting and waiting and waiting watching the tab and the items did not go into the bag until much later after I gave up and went to another tab. But at least they did eventually go into the bag.
I'll try again (but too late at night now) as maybe there was just some network problem or something at the time I was trying to put an item in the bag. But then I had no problems on Opera 12.18.
