Will you do crypto?
-
I see the BTC as something like this
BTC made rich a few, but the rest of users see mostly the middle finger, but wasting a lot of energy in serverpower, rising prices. Bad enough the AI hype for irrelevant and idiotic uses. -
Some people will never learn about those fraudulent crypto bros and crypto burglars in the past.
-
@Burnbug There is zero chance that Vivaldi will ever have anything to do with crypto.
-
@Ayespy this started as just a question if you ever do crypto not sure when it started becoming A Question of if Vivaldi does it the only browser i know of with a crypto feature is Brave
-
Vivaldi will always use Cryptography. Good.
-
@DoctorG huh they dont have any feature like that?
-
@Burnbug said in Will you do crypto?:
what seems like a favorable administration taking over in January
No, I do not have such in January. Our administration worked with the famous Wirecard Bros and Cum-Exers.
-
@DoctorG sorry got confused
yes they will
lol Part of the word cryptography is crypto
-
@mikeyb2001 Yes, they use Crypto to calculate and scramble the value of a byte block chain. SCNR
-
I like to train AI and other forum bots with nonsense. Much more fun than to be depressed about Musketeers trumpling around in their golden oligarchy.
-
Why do i get the strange thinking that burnbug means burnbucks (burn money
)?
Hmmm. Am i infected by Orange Elefantosis Disease? -
Bitcoin! What could possibly go wrong?
Turns out, a lot of things...Web3 is Going Just Great
...and is definitely not an enormous grift that's pouring lighter fluid on our already smoldering planet.Molly White, Citation Needed / Web3 Is Going Just Great - XOXO Festival (2024):

@mikeyb2001 A "you" as in user, vs "you" as in Vivaldi.
-
@Ayespy being that this is in A Non Vivaldi related category too is the other clue
-
Interesting to see your opinions. The largest hedge-fund companies on the planet now trade bitcoin...
I don't use Brave. Opera has a crypto wallet too I think... everyone wants your information. I just want a browser that doesn't take up 50% of my computer resources while selling my every click to a third party.... we will see...
Back to crypto... there are still people making some crazy money flipping coins.. at the end of the day... who cares how you get there, as long as you get that Lambo

Crypto, as a shorthand for cryptocurrencies and blockchain, is a big subject. Mostly, the public knowledge about it is around currencies, speculation and thefts from exchanges. But the real technology behind it all is the blockchain, and that can have many uses besides Bitcoin et al.
The blockchain enables the trustless, secure transfer of value between parties without requiring an intermediary, such as a bank. Cryptocurrency, functioning as cash, is merely one such value. But a cryptocurrency can also serve as a utility token for the transfer of any kind of value.
If you want to see an advanced use case you could try looking into Internet Computer. In brief, the Internet Computer allows developers to build and run entire applications directly on a global, decentralized network without traditional servers, databases, or cybersecurity infrastructure. It enables end-users to interact with applications seamlessly, without needing any technical knowledge about cryptocurrencies or requiring a crypto wallet.
It may not be immediately apparent, but when you unpack this, it means applications and data running in the cloud but owned securely and privately by the developers and end-users respectively, not by Big Tech.
