We need you tube downloader!

Now when Google owns eveything the've cut all the you tube downloaders from the chrome shop. So basically Vivaldi users are left with nothing. Please make one for us.
-
use jdownloader, it's the best also for downloading YT videos at 60fps
if you don't want to install jdownloader, this add on offers a lot of options including a download button
https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/wiki/Developer-Version
just drag the YouTubeCenter.crx in your extensions window -

May I just chip in that we have several already!
Vivaldi can take Opera add on's, I've got a couple running on my Vivaldi.
Just go to the Opera Add On's page, it will tell you that you need Opera, but allow download to your hard drive where you change the suffix from .enx (Opera Add On) to .crx (Vivaldi/Chrome Add On), then when Vivaldi's open, just drag onto the extensions page and it'll install itself.
Works with almost all Opera Add On's
Enjoy & have funhttps://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/fastesttube-youtube-video-downloader/?display=en

@andyraisbeck Lately I detected an issue with FastestTube, the videos are downloaded without any problem, but with audios are not named as video's title and haven't extension, just named "videoplayback".
I've to rename the file with the video's title and add .AC3 extension.

I don't think Vivaldi should go anywhere near providing an option to violate the YouTube Terms of Use. After all, they could get sued.
You agree not to access Content through any technology or means other than the video playback pages of the Website itself, the YouTube Player, or such other means as YouTube may explicitly designate for this purpose;

Don't worry they didn't...
You must to download it from oficial website or Opera extensions, instead Chrome Webstore, and complete manually the installation.
And as @Gwen-Dragon said, when Vivaldi has develop extensions?. These are come from developers by their own.

Simply replace in the URL youtube by hooktube, this Url shows you the You Tube video on Hooktube.com with the necessary buttons for download

I have been using Free YouTube Downloader [installed program] with very good results. As I recall in the 'free' version the only limitation is a maximum of three (3) minutes DOWNLOAD TIME. Hasn't bothered me a bit in my hobby of collecting YouTube mp4's

Youtube downloader is not any good feature for vivaldi.
Option #1 : use Internet Download Manager and it will install an add-on, it can download youtube video while being played.
Option #2: use jdownloader, it can download the video and even the audio in various format.
Option #3: simply use any web based youtube downloader! -
If you use Firefox Addons.mozilla is the best option for downloading video from Youtube.
The other best option is 4K downloader I've used it for years and it's fantastic. Very simple to use, and I've grabbed videos from sites besides YouTube with it. I've only used it once to try and download a playlist from YouTube but it seemed to handle it without a problem. They frequently update it to add support for new websites, too.

Not only was it a pointless necro-bump, but an advert for a different browser.
Nice. -
