Support touchscreens
-
I really like the Vivaldi browser. It's amazingly fast and looks nice, but it doesn't support my touchscreen at all. I can't scroll, can't click on links and can't use HTML5 TouchEvents. I would love to use Vivaldi, but I kind of need my touchscreen. Also, is there a bug tracker for me to report on?

have a touchscreen and it works. tested via this page https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/demos/detail/the-mandelbrot-set/launch

@idda Are you on Linux? I am on Ubuntu Linux with an ELAN touchscreen and that page you linked won't respond to any type of touch interaction. Did you manage to configure something to allow touch interaction?
I am excited to use Vivaldi Browser, but don't know how to configure my touchscreen.

Posting from my Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8.1
Scrolling via touch is working okay, but pinching to zoom does not work at all.
On the positive side, I can tap on a text field and the virtual keyboard will pop up.

I really prefer Firefox and now Vivaldi, but Chromium is the only browser I've found that supports Linux touchscreen at all. That's what I'm stuck with. Sorry, Vivaldi, your joining Firefox in the "rather use if touch worked" pile.

no i'm on windows 8.1 though you could try going into vivaldi://flags and setting the "Enable touch events" setting to "Enabled". also Fussolia is right, pinch to zoom does not seem to work in general but it works on the page i linked.

Using Surface Pro 2 with 8.1, here. Experience is like Fussolia; touch scrolling and 'clicking', but no zooming. That Mandelbrot link had basic zooming, tho (it would zoom only after I had completed the gesture and removed my fingers from the screen). I also note that I can't drag on the UI (e.g. to reorder tabs)

I have Samsung Notebook 9 pen QAA930 with a tocuscreen. When I click to browser buttons it doesn't work...

@Fussolia for touch zoom in/out maybe you can disable the Use hardware acceleration

Vivaldi has miserable touch support. Surface Pro 7, Windows 11 Pro. Also used on a Surface Pro 2 with both Windows 8.1 and 10. Page interactions generally work but the browser interface frequently and randomly stops accepting touch click events properly. A tap on a control will focus it as if you tabbed onto it, but will refuse to actually activate the control. I'm about a day from switching to Brave for a while.
