@jane-n In fairness, I truly understand that a limit is set on downvotes (irrelevant here as they are disabled) because they could potentially harm users.
Regarding upvotes, once one reaches three reputation points that, as far as I remember, allow a user to post (almost) freely, I can't say I see the point. But in the end, it's up to CMs.@guigirl said in A few issues in the latest forum update:
It would be rather ironic if this dumb forum upgrade pushed a whole lot of disgruntled users over instead to Braveoperaedge simply to enjoy a better forum UX.
Opera Forum uses NodeBB as well.

upvoting a single userβs posts could potentially be used to consciously inflate someone's reputation
@jane-n freezing upvoters after 10th upvote while allowing notifications would be a better solution than current annoying behaviour (where user cant express the humanly feeling like gratitude of praise)

like the folks in the Manjaro forum did
Exactly! For anyone unfamiliar, the MJ Forum debacle a few years ago really should be a salutary lesson of what NOT to do. A vibrant energetic warm community was destroyed, by an ill-conceived imposed intolerance from the owner. Hordes of once faithful MJ users left & never returned.

@jane-n Also, sometimes a user deserves more than one upvote for a particular post

Sadly, given there is no dog...
