Bookmarks Toolbar-Duplicate Entries
-
Hello,
I would like someone to help me with these 3 questions.
-
Why are there 2 listings for Bookmarks main heading? Shouldn't there be only one listing of Bookmarks. I don't see the purpose for the duplicate entries. How do I remove the one on the top?
-
When I save several opened tabs, they get saved into a folder that is called " Saved Tabs' all the way on the bottom of the Bookmarks Folders instead of an already existing folder for the same Website Domain. Meaning I visit Vivaldi.com and then I click on say 10 links so they all should be saved if I have that option to an existing Vivaldi Bookmarks Folder which already have been created previously but instead Vivaldi does not give me the option to do so. It is something that I was able to do when I used use Brave. Can that be accomplished here instead of having to go the Saved Tabs folder and copy all these bookmarks and move them manually to the already existing Vivaldi folder?
-
can I Delete the New Folder with the 4 squares on the bottom right hand side ( Speed Dials )? If I to select that folder and I save any new tabs to it do the new bookmarks only appear in the Speed Dial option or in the main Bookmarks folders since I seldom nor care for the Speed Dials option.
See the 2 screen captures so that you can have a clear understanding of what I am asking.
Thank you,

@bkhawaja
Hi, do you meant the entry Bookmarks in the Vivaldi menu and the panel?
You can customize the Vivaldi menus, simply remove the entry in vivaldi://appearanceThe bookmark panel is essential for manage bookmarks, you can work in vivaldi://bookmarks but the actual page is blocked with the bookmark page.
To remove the panel right click on the icon > Edit > Remove. No idea about 2. and 3., I don´t really use bookmarks since a long time.
Cheers, mib

Hi,
"Hi, do you meant the entry Bookmarks in the Vivaldi menu and the panel?"
I am not sure what do you mean by the Entry Bookmarks? I am referring to the Bookmarks Toolbar folders. Not the the Bookmarks in the Panel nor the ones that you access from Vivaldi on the Top left hand side then clicking on the scroll down arrow.
I am aware of the Bookmarks in the Panel where you can delete that. But that was not my question.Thank you,

- The default Bookmarks Tree looks like this.
Have you imported bookmarks from another browser and renamed the Import from ... folder to Bookmarks?
What you should do is select them all and drag them into the top level Bookmarks folder, then delete the (now empty) imported bookmarks folder to get something more like the screenshot.
-
When you save selected tabs to bookmarks, a new Saved Tabs (date) folder is created. Again, drag and drop the newly added bookmarks to move them to the first created folder for that domain, and rename the folder to something simple like the Domain name.
-
The Speed Dial folder is just a special folder of bookmarks on your Start Page. You can leave it empty if you don't ever use the Start Page.

Can someone help out with this question?

"Have you imported bookmarks from another browser and renamed the Import from ... folder to Bookmarks?"
No I did not.
"When you save selected tabs to bookmarks, a new Saved Tabs (date) folder is created. Again, drag and drop the newly added bookmarks to move them to the first created folder for that domain, and rename the folder to something simple like the Domain name"
Moving the Bookmarks and re-naming them is not a problem for me but rather wanting to save all of these opened tabs of a given domain to an already existing Domain Folder which I had created previously so that I don't have to do double work. Is that possible to do with Vivaldi?

I already had deleted it. Will doing so create any problems/errors next time I try to save newer bookmarks? Lastly, When selecting a New Folder in the Bookmarks Toolbar Dialog Box that opens up when I save a new bookmarks, I am not able to name that folder to whatever the Domain's name is inside that dialog box have to that from the Bookmarks manager. When i tried to remove the New Folder or Rename it the system will not allow me to do so. Is this an expected behavior of Vivaldi?? See Screen Capture.

Yes. Use the Bookmarks Panel for organising bookmarks. The Add Bookmark dropdown is not as flexible. I think that also covers your last question.
- Select the tabs that you wish to bookmark
- Open the Bookmarks Panel
- Expand the Folder into which you wish to add them (you can skip this step if you want to add them at the top of the folder)
- Drag and drop the selected tabs, and drop them onto the folder, or inside the folder if you want to select the position too
-
So it is not possible to add/save all the tabs of the same domain at the same time to a specific folder instead of the drag and drop. Is that correct?
