Calendar does return to "Today" correctly
-
In Calendar // Monthly View
Change calendar view to future month.
Click "Today"
Calendar returns to current month & focuses on correct cell (user can see the "+" but Calendar does not display numerical Date -
-
@janrif I'd guess this is caused by scrolling of the view. When selecting the date the '+' button is scrolled into view and this can lead to scrolling so that the date header is not visible. It is not optimal at all, but a bit tricky to solve with the way that things are rendered to screen.
Of course there could be something else, but I find this most likely. Can you please check if you can reproduce and see if there is a vertical scrollbar to the right?

Hi @eggert . Thanks for your follow up. Yes I can reproduce; it's consistent and yes, there is a scrollbar on the right. HTH

Ok, thanks for the info. So then this is – I wouldn't say by design but more of – a side effect of how we do things.
Feel free to file an issue for it and we will look into it. Not sure if there is much we can do about it in a feasible way.All your feedback is greatly appreciated.

On further testing, I think what I first reported may be more than we (you) think. Here a few examples of what I've experienced in addition to what I've already reported.

In month view (September) with day panel displayed on the right, I was unable to add an event in the right (day) panel.
-
Very specific to the following conditions: Month view = September. From Month dropdown, select Oct. You should see Oct 1 in the very last cell, bottom right. Vivaldi thinks it's still in September & I was unable to scroll into month of October. Scroll bar is visible but useless in this situation.
Just a guess, but It would seem logical to me that if the original issue I reported was adjusted (fixed), the rest of these issues would resolve themselves. TIA

@janrif I can reproduce neither of these oddities. With the second one (month dropdown), Oct 1st is not the bottom right cell. This one may depend on the preferred time format in Vivaldi's settings. Here's mine:

@WildEnte The only difference I see is in "First Week Number" setting. Could that be it?
Answering my own question: when selecting the other two values, everything worked as expected. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me but... Strange...... Anyway, thanks for your interest.
