Solved Settings Option to inhibit deleting tab with backspace/delete key
-
It is too easy to inadvertently delete a tab when backspacing through a field on a page. When you backspace through the entire field and the field is now empty, the next delete/backspace keystroke will delete the tab. There is already a keyboard shortcut to delete a tab - this key is redundant and error prone. Please provide a checkbox "Delete key deletes a tab when not in an edit field or in an empty edit field" so that we can disable this behavior.

@svenyonson You can remove Backspace key in Settings → Keyboard → Page → History Back.

@DoctorG Thank you, that worked! Confusing to me because I wasn't thinking of it as a "back" operation, but a "delete" operation.

@svenyonson And you can get internal overview for shortcuts with Ctrl F1 and quickly see which keys are set.

@DoctorG Thanks, great trick. On the MacBook, it is CMD+fn+F1

Sorry, Mac is so different from Linux and Windows key names, and my last use of a Mac was in 1999.
