Whatsapp web on web panel became extremely slow

@DoctorG Where can we grab it? It doesn't seem to be widely available to everyone
-
@DoctorG It works a bit better but keeps freezing after installing Vivaldi 5.5.2770.3.

Oh, ok, means not usable in 5.5 Snapshot, too.
I will check Vivaldi bug tracker if current Snapshot was reported for this issue.
//EDIT: I updated bug tracker and pinged dev team, but i do not know about any progress yet. -
@DoctorG It does have the same issue... you start typing in a chat it freezes for several seconds but somehow it feels a bit better than 5.4 (don't take that as true... it is just feelings not accurate testing comparison.. the freezing is still there).
Via panels of course.
Edit - 5.5.2770.3 (Official Build) (64-bit)
-
@Edmarcio Thanks for testing with 5.5.
-
@Edmarcio I think exactly the same, I uploaded a case, indicating the problem, but I always received the answer from the moderators that it was a problem of the user, graphics card, processor, or some firmware problem. But well, it seems that this answer is simpler.
-
@DoctorG I am testing Vivaldi. 5.5, the side Panel problem with WhatsApp is exactly the same, it doesn't work. But the overall performance of the browser if improved considerably, going from 636 MB to 393 MB when opened, I tested it on all machines, with operating systems and in performance is incredibly good, only the mole is problems with WhatsApp in the side panel.

Hi, I wanted to report the same issue. Thought it was only me, but a quick online search led me to this topic:
5.4.2753.40 @ Mac Monterrey
Extensions:- 1Password
- Dark Reader
- Twitch Adblock
- Keepa
- Demodal

I don't agree with the mod thinking...
I'm a software developer... if something works in competition software and not in mine it is my software fault. Trying to place the blame in external places instead it own software is weird.
Whatapp Web is a web app like any other and runs in all browsers fines except now Vivaldi... it should be an Whatsapp Web issue if it happened in all Chromium browsers but not.
It is a specific issue to Vivaldi and the first step to make it better is to acknowledge the issue and not blame others.
This!
Let us know when the problem is solved please...
I'm forced to use Opera now if i have to read and post quick stuff on WhatsApp and this is a pity other than a missed opportunity for the Vivaldi's grown!

same issue I love vivaldi even if it's not optimized but whatsapp lagging on my ryzen 7 rig just makes me feel so sad please fix it asap
-
Same issue with Debian Testing since the last 2 or 3 weeks.
The web panel starts normal but after a few minutes it turns very slow, switching conversations, clicking the text box, showing emojis, anything takes forever. -
Same here please fix this asap. Panels are one of the best things about vivaldi and whatsapp being useless is just annoying.
Vivaldi 5.4.2753.47
-
I have the same problem on my Linux computer
-
The problem with WhatsApp web in the side panel of Vivaldi, has 2 versions with the same problem and it seems to be or is not observed as a relevant problem, so it seems that the solution to this issue although they do not want to accept it is unique to Vivaldi and there seems to be no solution date.
-
Please stop the complaining.
In the meanwhile use WA Desktop.
-
The truth is that the problem is not only the complaining, but also the questioning of Vivaldi and the Dev team for a minor problem.

This is not accurate information. The problem is recognized. There are never "solution dates" with Vivaldi. ETA's are never estimated or published. Devs have this in the basket of (hundreds of) things to be solved.
Realize "Vivaldi sees a problem" is not equivalent to "Vivaldi caused the problem."
-
That's simplistic, if you offer a service, it either works or it doesn't. Simple.
But well, it confirms what I say, the more you minimize the "problems", the less solution there is.
-
@barbudo2005 For many it is a minor problem, then it is taken as that, minor problem, that is usually called "old practices", normally or currently the best practices for resolving issues, is it works or it doesn't work, the term "it is a minor problem" I thought it was in the past, but well, here we are, it still seems to be part of the software culture. Nothing to say, disappointment. Last comment.
