right click on selected text in pdf viewer doesn't show "search Google" option, instead shows copy/save image option (pdf are in text format, both opened from file system or opened from web link)
pdf viewer (using open source firefox pdf code) extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pdf-viewer/oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm?hl=en
Previously it was working on this extension. (this works on same extension in Google Chrome browser also).this works in inbuilt chrome pdf viewer though (but it doesn't remember last page position on browser reload)

@kinjalkishor
Hi, this is working for me on Linux with latest stable and snapshot:I will check on Windows and edit here.
EDIT: It is working on Windows 11, too.
May you can check with a guest profile, it exclude all settings and extensions.https://help.vivaldi.com/article/guest-view/
Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin In guest view you can't use extensions, so it is using chrome pdf viewer. That is already working for me.
pdf viewer (using open source firefox pdf code) extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pdf-viewer/oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm?hl=en
is not working which was previously working, but now doesn't (still works in chrome/opera). I disabled all other extensions also, still same result. Right click menu cannot recognize that selected words are text. -
@kinjalkishor
Ah, I am sorry, oversee the extension problem.
You can try to report it to the extension developers and make a bug report to the Vivaldi bug tracker.
The most developer are interested to help, some are working together with the Vivaldi developer to get it work on Vivaldi.
Another way to kick Google services out of Vivaldi.
I can verify, search selected text with the context menu does not work with this extension.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin

@kinjalkishor
OK, I wait for the next snapshot update to Chromium 102 and test the extension again and report here.
You can make a bug report to Vivaldi and link this thread and the Github link to it.For information on how to report a bug, see this URL: https://vvld.in/how-to-report-bugs
Once that is done, please share the bug number (beginning with VB-). Thanks.
On the form, you can add your email address. Once submitted, you'll get a confirmation. You can reply to this with any logs or further info.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Ok Thanks. I filed a bug report.
While google chrome pdf viewer is well maintained it doesn't remember last viewed location after restarting browser (not other pdf extension also). Only Firefox pdf viewer extension remembers but it is not updated for chrome in 2 years (updated for Firefox regularly). And Vivaldi can't modify any of the 2 projects. -
@kinjalkishor
Maybe the report get rejected but as it is open source they simply can take it and develop it further.
OK, they have no time and not enough developer but one can try. -
@mib2berlin There sure is some small change that vivaldi has made in pdf text selection, or some api call , which has made this difference as other chromium based browsers are working with this extension. Hopefully they will look in it.
