Solved Vivaldi extension location data storage
-
Where does Vivaldi store extension data. I am using Vivaldi with Sandboxie, an isolation app, and I want to create certain exclusions that will allow me to make and save changes in certain extensions between Vivaldi sessions. By default, all changes in Sandboxie are erased at the ends of a session. For example, if I make a tweak in the Dark Reader extension I would want that changed maintained between session. But I can't find where that data is stored, so I can make an exclusion for it.
I see that Dark Reader has an ID of eimadpbcbfnmbkopoojfekhnkhdbieeh. However, excluding the below directory had no effect; the changes were not kept.
Vivaldi\user\current\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default\Sync Extension Settings
So there must be another location. Anyone know what that is?
Thanks.

@n8chavez Perhaps in one of these folders (not tested). Just swap out the chrome bits with Vivaldi.

For Windows, you can find different data related to your extension [extension_id] at these places
C:\Users[user_name]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Extension Settings[extension_id]
C:\Users[user_name]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Sync Extension Settings[extension_id]
C:\Users[user_name]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\IndexedDB\chrome-extension_[extension_id] -
Thank you for that. But I think I solved the issue before, and didn't even know it. The idiot that I am, I forgot that syncing extension data was enabled. Every change I made was undone because when I re-launched Vivaldi everything was re-synced.
Thanks again.
