Browser crashes when printing
-
Can confirm, also experiencing ctd on attempting a print job.
I'm on 5.2.2623.33 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
-
I submitted a bug on it earlier also.
Summary: Vivaldi 5.2.2623.33 crashes when printing from multiple websites
(VB-88304)
-
As of today, whenever I click a button on a website to print a page, the browser completely closes. I have to open the page in another browser to print the page to a file. I don't know what is causing it, but it has happened in two separate websites.

@gcellison
Hi, some user report issues with print from Gmail, Google services for example. The bug is reported and we hope for a quick fix.Cheers, mib

5.2.2623.33 (Stable channel) (64-Bit)
When starting printing, Vivaldi crashes immediately and shut down. This appeared after updating to the latest version 5.2.2623.33 today - see above. Any solution?
-
@stephanushempelmann On Google services? Known issue.
Related to this master bug VB-88306 "[Regression] Crash after Print - GMail web mail"Print works in older 5.3.2636.3 Snapshot.
-
@doctorg
any printing, such as websites with a printing button, which worked perfectly until the automatic update today! -
Perhaps new 5.3 Snapshot fixes it? I do not had tested yet.
-
The snapshot does not fix this problem.
-
Correct that Snapshot does not fix the problem. Printing crashes from all web site printing feature. Running Windows 10 64bit.
Worked fine before new version/update.
Printing works fine on all sites using Microsoft Edge so this is a Vivaldi issue not Windows. Using File, Print works printing the web page in Vivaldi but not using website print buttons.
Please fix this so we can print again.
-
And i see such crashes with print is not solved in 5.3 Snapshot.
I updated the relevant report in Vivaldi bug tracker. -
Having the same issues here.
I also can't run Zoom through Vivaldi at the moment - Zoom crashes everything as well.
-
The bug happens when a extra blank window is opened to print or show an other content.
-
I also have the same bug with Printing and opening Zoom as well, this is the latest stable version 5.2.2623.33 (Stable channel) (64-bit) on Windows 11.
BTW when I initially installed the update, Vivaldi would not start (you clicked on the app icon but nothing would happen), i had to download and run the installer again. -
@mib2berlin Thank you. This occurred on hotel reservation websites using buttons to print a reservation. Hopefully, it will be back to working again soon. Cheers.
-
There are situations in which you try to print the page (to PDF) and while generating the preview Vivaldi suddenly crashes. I cannot detect if this something related to specifics of the page.
I have Vivaldi 5.2.2623.33 (Stable channel) (arm64) -
It seems this has been reported before, as Google returned a few results from this forum, but those links do not seem to work now.
What's going on?
PS: Downgrading to 5.2.2623.26 seems to have fixed it. Btw, what is the difference between .dmg and .universal.dmg? Maybe it should be clarified on the page:

Hello, On Monday the ctrl-p print crashes the browser. I have found that I can unblock some websites that I use and have used for work. However, my work-work website has a print button which gives a pop-out print menu that is similar or the same as your regular printer command screen. Now it just 100% crashes the browser even after I have but no-blocking on the website.
Browser is up to date. I have had no new downloads or addons.
Any suggestions? -
