Solved DuckDuckGo settings keep resetting
-
I really liked the browser, I have had it about 3 months. Every time I clear history, it resets all my settings to default. That's a pain in the ass to change them every day or two. Good by

How do you make this happen? It is not possible here, by clearing history.

@cherokeerunnin welcome to the forum. You seem to have signed up out of frustration to say goodbye. What you experience is not normal for Vivaldi, and as far as I remember remember, there are no other users that have mentioned similar odd Vivaldi behavior.
Which way of clearing the history do you use?

Trust me it happens. I tested it again today. It happens

@cherokeerunnin we don't doubt that this happens to you. We want to find out what is wrong so it can be fixed. Please let us know the steps you take to clear the history and what happens then.

Browsing history , cookies and cached only. Thank you for the quick responce

@cherokeerunnin will have to test later (or someone else) as I am off to other things now, but can you please also say what version you use (help - > about), which OS, if you use any extensions and if you use special anti virus software or things like cc cleaner that might also access Vivaldi data. Finally, when you have cleared the data, what do you see happen? Is Vivaldi giving you the startup dialog or do you see the default bookmarks on the start page, or are your customization of the UI messed up?
Finally, if you need to set up new.after clearing the history, you might as well start off with a fresh profile in the first place, which might immediately fix the problem.

The duckduckgo search engine saves the settings in a cookie. You need to whitelist the DDG cookie and the settings should remain intact.
