Solved Google's voice services (search, docs, translate) not working in Vivaldi

I cannot get Vivaldi to access microphone but I can in Firefox. Just updated Vivaldi.

@virtualtechwriter Google Voice service is only for Chrome, non-commercial browsers and from companies after paying annual fees.
I think, Vivaldi can not afford this extra money at this time.

How to make, Google translate voice recognition, to work on Vivaldi?
I suppose Google blocked it, but on EDGE it works fine.
Is there any workaround to force it to work on Vivaldi?
And voice search doesn't work too.

Annual and per installation license fees to Google. Too much extra payment at this time for Vivaldi.

It is not a critical problem, but it seems a bit strange to me that the microphone does not work in the google translation page, when I click on the microphone icon I get a message: "cannot connect to the network. RETRY"

I would like to solve this small problem, but i do not know where to start, I already searched the web, in the vivaldi forum and only found old problems on mac and windows, it would also be good to know if someone else has the same problem.

@jhonca You will not get this in near future. Licence payments per annum and installation, and approbation of Vivaldi by Google is needed.

Well, it's the other way around. Google is limiting use of this service to their own browser, excluding everyone else. Including Firefox, Brave, Opera etc.

It works in Edge, maybe because Google and MS are best buds? Or because MS paid the dosh to be allowed in.

It also would not surprise me if MS once they get a larger browser share will do the exact same thing on their service. After all, those CPU cycles for speech recognition costs $$$, so why allow dirty competitors, it makes complete business sense.

@pathduck Yes, I also realized that this service is not available in firefox, but being basically chromium I found it a bit weird.

I guess google can live without the feedback of other browsers.

the good thing is that in android this service works perfectly.

I hope apple can say the same.

@pathduck Sorry, but isn't Vivaldi's user agent the same as Chrome's?

@leo32345 Yes, but there's more than just the UA going on here. I think that since the button is not greyed out like in other browsers like Firefox, the site does "think" it's seeing Chrome.

But there's more to it, maybe a component that Vivaldi is missing or an API key that needs to be sent before it works.

By the way, some users have complained that the translate doesn't work. To fix this, replace "Automatic Detection" to the language.

in this case I think that the bing voice translator is our best ally.

Does anybody know why Google search doesn't work? It keeps saying there is no Internet connection. anyone knows how to fix it or is that the bug involved the vivaldi?

@sousan It is not a bug, it is a missing feature. Vivaldi would have to pay to use Google voice search.

I´m just corious , why does this option work in MS Edge browser and not in vivalda? Did Microsoft pay for this service or is it something else?
