Solved Vivaldi Logo Customisation
-
I would love to be able to customise how the Vivaldi logo looks on my task bar, having a selection of themes or looks for the logo would be great! would be awesome to look at the Vivaldi logo in my taskbar with some gradient colour styles or something
-
I found a png/jpeg to apple icon image converter online and have the icon you made set up, really appreciate the time you put in to help me out, much love!
-
@browserconnoisseur You should be able to customize it the same way you can customize other taskbar icons.
Here is a guide for the process.
All you need to do is create an
.ico
file with the new image you want and apply it to the shortcut for the program. You can make aPNG
image of what you want and use an online converter if your image editing program can't save as.ico

@nomadic does this work with apple imacs aswell? and are there any logo themes available for download?
-
@browserconnoisseur Ah, the use of the term "taskbar" made me think you were on Windows. On iMacs running MacOS, that interface element is called "the dock".
Here is a guide for changing icons on Macs.
are there any logo themes available for download?
Not anything provided by Vivaldi, but you might be able to find some using an image search. They are also not too difficult to create. I could make a simple icon if you are unable to.
You had mentioned gradients, so here is a simple icon with a diagonal gradient. (I believe MacOS lets you use PNGs as icons)

Thanks! doesn't seem to be working like the article says it should, Is just coming up with a png file icon rather than changing the logo to the custom one.
-
@browserconnoisseur Maybe there was a change and it needs to be an ICO file? It has been awhile since I used a Mac.
Here is the same logo as an ICO:

@nomadic ah, did some research and the file needs to be in apple icon image. format
-
@browserconnoisseur Well, I couldn't easily find information about that. All I remember from years ago was using
.ico
files. As I don't have a Mac to do any testing, it doesn't look like I can provide any more help. Maybe someone else can help you, or maybe you could ask for help on a MacOS forum.
Do you know anything about how to change the dock icons @hlehyaric?

@nomadic I'm sorry but I can't help unfortunately. Anyway, it seems the OP has successfully changed the icon.
