Solved Stop Foreign Defaulting
-
I am based in France but want to access the English (UK) version of a website. However it keeps serving me the French version. I've changed my chrome location settings. If I clip the 'fr' and replace it with 'en', it doesn't get the hint, and stays on the French version. Very bad defect this.

@francismarcus I can reply to myself. I cleared out the browser cache and cookies and it's done the trick.

A website or web server can
- save language preference in cookie or local storage
Open chrome://settings/content/all , select the domain and delete cookie and other storage - detect user remote IP and send the version for that country
Use a VPN or Proxy - detect language preference order by HTTP header sent by the browser
Change in Vivaldi Settings → General → Accept Languages
- save language preference in cookie or local storage
