Youtube web page not loading in correctly
-
Hey guys, spotted another problem that only started occurring after the most recent update! Youtube web pages rarely load in fully, this happens on channels, videos, etc. Sometimes thumbnails won't load, comment threads, etc. None of this seems to happen when logged in as a guest...
-
@bj1101 Reloading sometimes fixes it, but often times doesn't. Other web browsers do not have this problem, so I don't think it's youtube.
-
@bj1101 It appears to be fixed by disabling hardware acceleration but doing so made other functions like typing and moving windows inside of the browser super slow and unresponsive...

Hi, I guess your GPU is kicked from the Chromium developer, Vivaldi 5 is now Chromium 96, 4 was Chromium 94.
You can try a flag, open chrome://flags search for "Override software rendering list"
enable it, enable hardware acceleration again and restart Vivaldi.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Thanks. This sort of worked, but I think I'm going to have to deal with the lack of hardware acceleration because it caused all of the video thumbnails to render like super pixelated and blurry, though everything did load properly... Kinda mad that google stopped supporting my graphics, but not surprised since my laptop is 10 years old... I don't want to revert back to 4.0, so I guess that I'll just have to deal with it

Update again. I noticed the same problem started occurring again regardless of hardware acceleration. I honestly think that this is a vivaldi bug.

@bj1101
Depends on your GPU there are some other things you can try.
You can check in the driver settings in FXAA is enabled, try to disable it.
Some more flags to enable:
GPU rasterization
Out-of-process 2D canvas rasterization
Accelerated 2D canvasThis is really trial and error but with some luck you get better results.
Cheers, mib
EDIT: Can you and your GPU device, please? -
Hello,
Oh, I have got chance, on this.
I updated Vivaldi yesterday, after some months of abandoning it because of too tiny fonts in the menu and different parts, this problem is not solved, but I had a look at Youtube, well everything is OK
So, it is not a fatality.
If you like you can have a glance at what happens with a new profile, to get an idea of it to start with.I have 8 MB of memory, so if Youtube is too hungry on memory maybe I cannot detect it.
