Solved Browser window resize locks my cursor
-
I am just replying to say that I fixed this, although not entirely sure what was causing it. It seemed to be some kind of extension interaction, that would have had to come from LastPass or uBlock Origin.
Even when I did a fresh install, as soon as a synced with my Vivaldi account, it would start again. One of the extensions must have modified a hidden setting somewhere.
I fixed the problem by deleting my sync account, recreating it, and then fresh installing Vivaldi. I have not yet reinstalled any extension.

@michaelmcewan I can reproduce it easily using the Top Left or Bottom Left corners of the window.
I closed the Sizer app mentioned above by ending the task in Windows Task Manager, and can still reproduce the issue easily. I reckon it is a feature, not a bug. Maybe an Easter Egg.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit 1909 build 18363.592 • Snapshot 2.11.1792.3 (64-bit)

@michaelmcewan This verifies my dealings with conflicting extensions, install extensity; from the Chrome store;if you have this issue again, this extension lets do disable extensions which may conflict!!

I'm facing this issue also. I have synced everything with my work and home Vivaldi. Extensions only UO, bitwarden, ghostery and one custom for our work. Not always, but often happens this resize issue but only on company notebook (Win10 1607 LTSC), never happened on my home computer (Win10 1809 + Insider).

FYI I ran into this exact issue. Click Lock in Windows 10 wasn't enabled, but it only affected my vivaldi window from the top. I been lazy updating it.... Was running 3.5.2 and now updated to 3.6.2 and the issue went away. I do have uBlock installed but I didn't disable.

I've updated my company notebook to Win10 1909. Issue still persists. It is pretty annoying. What annoys me more that I can't tell how to reproduce it other than with resizing window.
Alright, I find the thing. There is setting under Control Panel -> System -> Advanced system settings -> Visual effects - Show window content while dragging.
I had it checked but it was somehow bugged and resizing windows was behaving like with unchecked checkbox. Uncheck it, check again, restart browser and damn issue was gone.

False alarm. My workaround is just temporary, after OS reboot, issue is there again..

I just reported bug for this issue. This behaviour drives me crazy, never ever saw this bug with other software.
(VB-82172) Window resizing follows mouse cursor after releasing primary mouse button

This issue went away for awhile but has come back. I remember an update was released and that seemed to cure it. Several months later, it's happening again. It's the only program that does this (Windows 10).

Yup, still happening on 5.x on my company notebook. I think I will open bugreport for this. This bug is super annoying.

@jfsvivaldi01 I'm unable to reproduce that issue here. Tested in Vivaldi Stable 5.0.2497.32 & Snapshot 5.1.2526.3 (both 64-bit on Windows 10 ver. 21H2, x64, build ver. 19044.1415).
Please check the Troubleshooting issues guide and try performing some basic troubleshooting.

I didn't created bug yet, I think this will end up in category never fixed up, as there is no way to reproduce it. For this, it will be needed to do more advanced debugging, like watching which windows messages are fired/not fired when mouse is clicked/holding/released.
