[Question] Browser locking with a password.
-
Can I lock Vivaldi Browser with a password so it will require that whenever i try to access it ? Chrome had that function but recently, it got stripped down. Is there any way to lock it, while other members can browse as a guest and not see my history ?

Unfortunately, no.
However, you can try extensions from the chrome web store (though I wouldn't recommend it), or use a third-party program like this one: http://www.freeexelock.com/
Maybe you could request a master password feature in vivaldi, who knows, it might be implemented~ -
I install Opera 12.17 and Vivaldi on a Veracrypt virtual drive using the USB installation options.
I have to enter a password to mount the drive before I can open my browsers or read my email. Unless I go out, the PC is on Sleep, so I don't have to enter the password too often.
Email, passwords, contacts, etc., should all be protected even if my PC is stolen when I am out.

I think he means a installed version, not a portable version…..
Besides, portable software always runs much slower than normal software, probably due to the slower speed of the USB (although some USBs are very fast)
But, all things considered, your suggestion is quite valid and would work, as long as Baron99 doesn't mind the slower speed... -

Then I'll just request such a feature and leave this question question-marked for others to reply !
This feature will be great ! Won't it ? -

Yes, it's obviously not solved yet, but you chose the heart icon.

I am not sure what it would achieve, if anything. Windows has User Accounts to stop others accessing your stuff, and you can lock Windows when away from your machine.
Maybe I missed something?

Oh I know about them, just click "advanced options" and check "install portable version" (not exactly sure I got the words right but you get the idea  )
Well, I thought you meant installing on your USB; of course, they can be installed on the C: drive….
A sidenote: if you need some good portable programs, I recommend http://portableapps.com
They have hundreds of awesome apps packaged as portable apps, and you'll find me on the forum there as well(same username)
