Google Search not working with Vivaldi
-
Google Search is not working with Vivaldi. I have completed all troubleshooting steps. I even uninstalled and reinstalled my browser. I then was having trouble with my email program on desktop, again with gmail only. The only way anything with Google would work was using a VPN. SOO I did the dreaded thing and did a total factory reset. Now my email, even though a bit slow is working as is should. However Google will NOT work with Vivaldi. I tried other browsers and it's fine and works as it should. My granddaughter is in school, LOVES Vivaldi, but has the very same issue on her laptop. I'm wired to modem, she is not. Yes the modem has been reset as well. HELP??? PLEASE???

@kathyblanchard
Hi, what do you meant with search is not working?
If you use Google as your default search engine you need to add the suggest URL to get search suggestions but just search work without it.
If you open google.com and search, does it not work?
I use also some Google services as Keep, Drive without problems, for example.
The Vivaldi email client work with Gmail for me, too.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin said in Google Search not working with Vivaldi:
suggest URL
I did as you said, that suggest url wasn't enabled. Enabled it, going to give it a day or so. I've used Vivaldi since forever ago when it first came out pretty much. I'd tell people about it and they were not hot to use something they never heard of. Now that it's becoming popular.. Anyhow, I've just never had this issue before.

Ok, that did not work. I tried it on one search, got results right away, posted to you, tried it again, nothing. It will not load, it just sits there blank. This is crazy

@kathyblanchard
I still not understand what went wrong, a few questions:- Where do you search? Address Bar, Search Bar, Google main page?
- Can you add a screen shot of your search settings?
- Which OS and Vivaldi version do you use?
These are my settings:

I've checked my settings with yours. The only difference is I don't have the search box enabled. I don't care for it.

Try it in a Guest window.
Try a different browser on the same machine. -
@kathyblanchard When you answer the questions asked by @mib2berlin be sure to include the full entries you have entered as the search and suggest urls as well.
E.g. The screenshot as provided by mib does not show the full information.

@tbgbe will do. I'm just getting everything back up since wipe. the crazy thing is if I use a vpn.. all is well. In 20 years I have never seen this before. It works on other browsers just fine. In my independent desktop email program, POSTBOX, all my email accounts work just fine, except for google. They did a remote session and couldn't get it to work. SO that's when I did the wipe. Figured I'd start from scratch. All for not. I will send screens tomorrow.
