How "Capture lets you snag and resize your screenshot images in an instant."
-
I just got a feed article with a section titled "Capture lets you snag and resize your screenshot images in an instant."
This is a feature I've never tried before, so I gave it a shot. I can use the 'selection' part of this feature to select an image that is in an article, but I cannot figure out how to resize that selected image. From what I see, I only get the option to save the selection as a png or jpg. Nothing at all about resizing the selection I made.
What am I missing here? I'd really like to be able to resize the selected images, without having to use a third-party program.
TIA !

@doppleganger Where do you had read this, any URL?
-
@doctorg It was in a Vivaldi RSS feed article entitled "Want better online productivity? Easy does it."
-
@doppleganger OK, Vivaldi lets you select easily a area to capture. That is he fact.

@npro That seems to be just adjusting the area that will be captured, correct?? When I read an article that says 'resize an image' I think of the normal image resizing, such as resizing from 800x600 to 1920x1080 .
You see what I mean here??

Yes, until 4.3 this was not possible. I've seen the article now and I agree, "snag and resize your screenshot images" and "So, now you can snag those perfect screenshots the first time, every time." -the latter implying that- could have been written a bit more clearer for those that haven't tried that feature before like you.
-
@npro I see how I misunderstood the syntax of the article now. I appreciate your clarifying things for me!!

adjusting the area that will be captured
This is the EXACT wording that should have been used. This is not a resizing operation, as understood by anyone who does any image processing.
Even before I read your comment, I had advised devs this should read "adjust capture area," not "resize image."
-
@ayespy Yes, and obviously I totally agree with you!
But still and all, I would not trade this browser for any other out there.
-
@doppleganger Thanks you brought this up.
And i reported that internally yesterday's afternoon.
The should change the text. -
@doctorg Sounds good to me!

German article "Großer Update-Alarm: Vivaldi sagt nein zu Google Idle API, verbessert Bilderfassung, Download-Paneel, Sync, fügt 68 neue Sprachen zum Übersetzer hinzu, und mehr." has already a changed text.
It refers now correctly to ability to change size of selection area -
Hello DoppleGanger and everyone
POSSIBLE.
Resize.
Shift the flailing focus to the word Instant.Zoom Slider Resize before Capture facilitates Resize. No snag. Not Instant.
The Resize upon Capture belong in different sentences written in a
Feature How-To Capture web page parts of a size preferred for Capture
using Vivaldi browser Capture tool and the zoom slider tool.Vivaldi tools let you resize and snag a web page screencapture image.
