Using "OfficeLibre" w Vivaldi
-
OfficeLibre is MS office for free. In many ways it's like the Vivaldi Community ecosystem. And I'd to use it in conjunction with Vivaldi. Is this possible? Even a shortcut from the panel would be helpful. Thank you.

@janrif You cannot launch executables from Vivaldi. What you can do is associate *.docx and MS *.doc files with LibreOffice, then it will open them from download links if you select Open from the dialog.

@janrif , in the browser you can only use online alternatives. In Vivaldi you can try this one (include in mobile). 100% free, no registration, no ads, no tracking, full privacy..
It saves the files locally in html format, that is, you can open them direct in the browser or use them to create a web page, if you have a host.
Alternatively/aditional you can use Online Office Work (OpenSource, Chrome extension). -

May I ask if you use any of these & which do you favor & why?
Definitely solved my problem but want to make sure I'm not walking into something that I don't understand. Again, thank you so much.

@janrif , there are no pitfalls in SSuite, the applications on this website, such as the various word processors and the spreadsheet, are easy to use, identical to that of any other editor of this type. The one I use the most is the Blue Velvet Editor, because it is optimized for mobile use and also works wonderfully in the Vivaldi web panel.
The same with the other utilities you find on this page, even some games, all intuitive and uncomplicated to use.
They also offer the Office suite for download, to use it offline, but only for Windows. Although I think it is not very necessary, given the quality of these online apps.
The second one that I mentioned, the extension is similar and it does not have many secrets either, although it is more intended to be used as MS Office file editors, since it mainly offers these formats, but it can also be a good complement, a matter of personal preferences of each one. . -
@catweazle Looked thru a number of apps. Someone(s) had a lot of time on their hands. Thanks for your reply. I tested all the editors & landed on the same as you did. It's now a panel app. The only thing I need to consider is whom I'm writing for b/c so many favor doc or docx instead of html. But then, maybe I'm behind the times. Enjoy the rest of your wknd.

@janrif , I think you can convert the files to doc format, every word processor can do this, if needed, f. Example you can open it in the other, the extension I named before, this one can save the file than in doc if you need it in this format.
Blue Velvet Editor use the html format, because this files you can open direct in the browser by default, without the need of other apps.
You can also select and copy a web page text and paste it in the Blue Velvet editor. It save it just in the same aspect as in the original page. -
