Full screen landscape YouTube video cropped
-
Ive realized that when running Vivaldi first time screen moves when adjusting volume. Im suspecting that screen is moving away from volume bar.
-
I'm not sure why this is not bigger known problem, maybe just certain phone models have this problem.
Problem exactly same as here (picture about problem):
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/63251/fullscreen-youtube-com-issueI had this problem since 4.0 vivaldi android update came out and still now as on 4.1 update, 3.9 update were last version that had fullscreen landscape videos working normally on my phone.
Meanwhile been using other browser to watch videos.
#1
Basically go for any video, like I did. Start video on fullscreen landscape mode.
If you got same problem as I do, you notice minor "flash" during video start and after that video area get reduced on the other side of the screen, and black area on the opposite side will get more area.
#2
Also system navigation buttons won't disappear during fullscreen landscape mode (grey area with buttons will stay for landscape mode and won't disappear), I do remember from earlier updates that this didn't happen by then, something changed or bug?
I've made bug reports related to these bugs:
VAB-4517
VAB-45184.1.2366.26
Android 11
Mi Note 10 Lite -
I've also got this problem:

Seems like noone cares
VAB-4431

No, sometimes testers can not reproduce the issue.
I checked these on my Redmi Note 7 (MIUI Global 12.0.3.0 / Android 10 190910.002) and could not confirm the issues.
VAB-4431
VAB-4517

VAB-4431
VAB-4517
VAB-4518What I've seen this error reported, it seems to be limited to mostly Android 11, but also read that phone from motorola (onevision) which had android 10 had this problem, also many Xiaomi users report this.
But yeah not seen many reported this from Android 10 overall, pretty much all reported from Android 11.
For example my 2nd phone is Galaxy A71 (Samsung) with Android 11, but doesn't have this bug. Very limited bug for certain phone models, maybe?

Most Xiaomi users report this on Android 11, not seen any on Android 10 bug reports from Xiaomi user.
So simply you don't see this bug.
Maybe some other bug reporter / hunter with Android 11 and Xiaomi / Motorola phone?
And any Vivaldi version after 3.9 update, 4.0 and 4.1

Mi Note 10 Lite
Android 11 (V12.5.1.0.RFNEUXM + V12.5.3.0.RFNEUXM)
I've had V12.5.1.0.RFNEUXM with 3.9 Vivaldi update, and nothing like this bug was there, but after 4.0 update this bug started appear and still on 4.1 update.
Same continues with V12.5.3.0.RFNEUXM update.
EEA user.

You can confirm this bug right, as you got same device as I do?
-
@strikefin
Hi, I post in other threads I cant reproduce the issue on:Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite
Android 11
Vivaldi Android Snapshot 4.2 and 4.1 Stable. These bugs are hard to fix if they happen only for some user at some devices.
Do you have some third party blocking software running, VPN, Antvirus, Blockada, for example?
It is only guessing but I have no idea why it work for me with the same OS, MIUI version at a device from the same company.Cheers, mib

Yeah, I've shared all info for now. Now just waiting something to happen.
Meanwhile using other browser (chromium based as Vivaldi, but no such bug there)

I have a feeling it may have something to do with the viewport being used to display the app. On some models something is cut off, on others there's extra space (such as this other topic https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/54864/remove-white-line-between-nav-bar-and-toolbar-please but I found many other topics reporting either bug...)
-
What is viewport?
-
@voko6503 I was referring to the viewing area for the application. In some cases it may be the whole screen, other times it may be a smaller area, to leave room for the notifications/clock/battery bar at the top or the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if that's the right term in this case, but I guess you get the general idea of what I was referring to -

@strikefin i reverted to 3.8.

Can you test 4.2 RC1, atleast according to changelog VAB-4431 is fixed now?
-
VAB-4431 is mentioned on 4.2 RC1 changelog, maybe this time these problems are gone?
