HTML5 color picker doesn't work
-
Vivaldi browser version: 4.1.2369.11, Stable channel, 64-bit
https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_picker.asp
HTML5 color picker doesn't work in Vivaldi. I click picker icon and no response, but works well in Edge and Chrome. Please fix.
-
@aysxcb Confirmed. I will check an other picker.
Pipette fails-Please read Help us to reproduce the issue carefully and then report bug to Vivaldi tracker.
Interesting fact: color picker of Developer Tools → Elements → CSS work.
-
@doctorg Funnily enough, this one works for me
Maybe a misunderstanding? It's not supposed to change the actual color until the dialog is closed by clicking outside it.
-
@pathduck The bug is that the pipette fails to pick a color.
-
@pathduck Yes, the colors listed on page change after color picker is unfocused.
-
@doctorg Ah yes, thanks for clarifying, I did not understand the problem completely
It fails in Opera too.
Firefox just uses the good old OS picker. Same with Vivaldi 2.9.Works in Chromium, Brave and Chrome. But it's really buggy anyway - looks to me like it doesn't really find the actual colour under the cursor. But this might be a DPI Scaling issue as well...
I couldn't find a single other HTML colour picker with a pipette feature to test if it's only this site's code.

This one fails, too: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/Input/color

Bug VB-82055 "HTML5 color picker(pipette) doesn't work" was confirmed.
-
Same error in 4.0.2312.41

All works flawless for me, Vivaldi last stable, Win 10 21H1 last
-
@doctorg It's been like this since at least 3.6
I believe it's related to:

@pathduck The pipette should work as in Edge + Chromium 92, but Vivaldi fails.
-
@pathduck , ah, ok, really a bug (works in UR) anyway I use the colorpicker from Lunapic, or the own from Windows in its Powertoys, which works fine for what I use it.
Maybe as workarround until it's solved, we can use the Eye Dropper extension. or similar. -
