Solved Would like to add Presearch - how to?
-
The extension is installed but Presearch isn't showing up in search engines under "settings". Right-click in https://presearch.org search box offers no options to add it either.
Suggestions?
-
@danielson I don't know how the whole monetization aspect of that search engine works and if it is compatible with this method, but you should be able to add it without needing the extension.
Right-clicking
and selectingAdd as Search Engine
after completing an actual search let me add the search engine:
If that still doesn't work, you can add it directly in settings:
Go to:
Settings
→Search
→Search Engines
and hit the+
in the bottom left corner to add a new search engine. This is the
URL
:https://engine.presearch.org/search?q=%s
Name
andNickname
can be what you want.
Does the site actually gives search suggestions? If it is supposed to, I can look for what the appropriate
Suggest URL
is, but by default I wasn't receiving any suggestions. -
@nomadic - that second part with q in url box did the trick, thank you!
They seem to be rather new and i can't see info. on how to add it to browsers (except extensions).
-
@nomadic yes it gives suggestions. you have to turn it on in settings. please give us the suggest url. thanks.

This helped me too, thanks!

I do not quite understand the idea of presearch. Does it start searching without being told what to find? Why would that be useful?
-
Now Presearch is using engine.presearch.org only for it's home page requests, for searching from omnibox is using the next one:
https://presearch.org/extsearch?term=%s

What WORKS for me in VIVALDI:
https://engine.presearch.org/search?q=%s -
