Vivaldi won't stay logged in to Google.

@code3 Vivaldi is the only browser giving me this issue. Other browsers like Chrome, Slimjet, and Waterfox aren't giving me the issue.
After seeing your comment, I opened a guest window and signed into Google on it. It's too early to tell for sure, but it doesn't seem to have the problem so far. I was able to set search settigns without beign logged out.

go to settings (located with a gear symbol
) then go to "privacy", scroll down and in the option "accept cockies" uncheck the box "delete on exit" or "block"
vivaldi will not save your data if the option to accept cockies is not activated. -
@foxdefalt "Accept Cookies" is already set to "All".
-
so i think it must be something to do with the option to save passwords... make sure the option "save logins and passwords" is enabled, if not I don't know what it might be.
-
@foxdefalt "Save Webpage Passwords" is already enabled.
As I mentioned, msot websites don't have this problem. It just recently started happening for no discernable reason, after years of using Vivaldi.

@hbenthow Try in a private window
-
@code3 Try what in a private window? As I mentioned before, I already tried using Google in a guest window, and it seems to work correctly.
-
@hbenthow A private window uses your settings but no extensions and uses it’s own cache and cookies. A guest window uses a blank profile. Try in a private window.
-
@code3 I tried it now, and it seems not to have the problem in a private window.
-
@hbenthow What that tells you is that some extension of yours or something else that has gotten installed in, or has corrupted, your profile is causing the problem.
-
@ayespy What would be your recommendation on how to narrow things down to figure out exactly what's causing it?
-
Anything related to privacy or tracking, as Google is one of the bigger tracking companies so anything likely to block trackers is likely to block parts of Google.
-
@hbenthow Are you using the Vivaldi email client?
-
@ayespy No.
-
@hbenthow OK, then. I recommend to refresh your profile. As you begin adding stuff back in, you will eventually run across what is causing the problem. Oh - and before you start, if you are using sync, turn that off as the first step.
-
@ayespy I was about to disable a bunch of extensions to see if that would fix it, then gradually start re-enabling them one by one to see which one was causing the problem. But then I suddenly remembered that a week or two ago, I had installed an extension called "Flag Cookies". I disabled it, and everythign seems to be working correctly now. Hopefully that was the cause of the problem. If not and the problem reappears after a while, I'll let you know.
-
@hbenthow Well, yay, it sounds like you may have hit on it. "Flag Cookies" is directly within the arena of stuff that would create this type of problem. Cookies is exactly what keeps you logged in - and something that "manages" cookies obviously has the potential to break that.
