@eeeemc
Hi, you can open Vivaldi taskmanager to evaluate wich process takes a lot of CPU power on your system from Tools menu or Shift+Esc.
Check vivaldi://serviceworker-internals and delete all you don´t know. You can delete all in one rush with Ctrl+Shift+Del delete Application Cache.
May an extension cause this.
If all looks normal in Vivaldi you have possibly a malware problem infected your browser or your system.
An anti coin extension does not help then.Cheers, mib

@eeeemc Doesn't the Vivaldi content (ad/tracking) blocker already take care of that? At least, if you have the right filters enabled?
-
@eggcorn For third party, yes, but not first party.
Still, this may not be a coin mining problem.

@eeeemc Fan does not mean coin miner. The Mac I use sometimes does this if too many webpages are open. If your computer did not freeze up and Vivaldi did not crash it was probably not working all that hard.
Use Shift + Esc to view the task manager.
If you do install anti-coin mining, use only one.
But you can add anti mining to Vivaldi in vivaldi://settings/privacy click “Manage Sources” and add this under tracking sources:

Thank you so much !
Very helpful information indeed....... yes, my next suspect is as your said too many tabs opened.
I use save as .txt your given link above on desktop and reach Vivaldi Manage Source and added it. ok though as I can see it is check marked Nocoin filter list is in there.

@eggcorn Thank you !
I believe so as it should be enabled out of the box when installing Vivaldi. Will go & check again.

@eeeemc Next time, do not download the list, copy the link. Vivaldi accepts links to the raw list.
