Cast to TV
-
Hi, is very easy cast from vivaldi to TV with the "cast" option in vivaldi. But the problem it cant cast audio. There is some form to fix this??
-
@jose1977 It could have to do with your Linux setup.
-
I dont know, but if it is vivaldi who makes the connection, should be vivaldi who has the configuration

@jose1977
FYI
I can cast live sports streams to my chromecast TV dongle, including audio without having to configure anything.
Can also cast an mp3 music file as the source.
What linux distro are you using?glen@Bionic:~$ vivaldi-snapshot --version Vivaldi 3.8.2259.32 glen@Bionic:~$ inxi -S System: Host: Bionic Kernel: 5.4.0-72-generic x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Xfce 4.12.3 Distro: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS

@CantankRus
Hi, but you can duplicate the screen with this method?. Because I can send the files to the TV with CXexplorer, and I can see the movies, photos etc correctly. But my question know is a make a mirror in the TV.
Thanks. -
@jose1977
Mirroring your desktop in chromium based browsers is probably using scripts specific to Windows as the sound works
when mirroring from my Windows computer.
May have to look at a linux solution, separate from the browser.
eg how-to-cast-your-gnome-shell-desktop -
@CantankRus Well that is weird because I have 2 computer with windows 10 and the sound by Vivaldi o Chrome mirroring doesn't work in any of them.

Just double checked.
I have an Android TV with inbuit chromecast and a normal TV with chomecast dongle.
Sound works when casting desktop from Windows 10 to either TVs.
Vivaldi: 3.8.2259.37 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
I see a delay of over 5secs to the Anrdoid TV while the chromecast dongle has a hardly perceptible delay.
Have a look at your Windows sound settings.This is what I see in Vivaldi's task manager when casting desktop.
If I stop casting and restart vivaldi I don't see the Audio or Mirroring service in the task manager.
