@matiasmovie I can't reproduce this on Stable or Snapshot!?
What version of Vivaldi do you have?
How are you creating the tabs?What do you have in tools/settings/tabs - close tab activation?
-
@TbGbe
version 3.5.2115.81 stableI created tabs by clicking on the 4chan logo, but when opening different links on other pages with midle click, I also have this problem as in the video
Placement of new tabs: behind the associated tabs
Position of duplicate tabs: behind the duplicate tab
After closing a tab: Activate the tab on the right
Tab Handling: Leave the window open when the last tab is closed

@matiasmovie said in Wrong active tab after closing other active cards:

Not sure what you mean so I tried opening from bookmark bar and then from Speeddial
but when opening different links on other pages with midle click, I also have this problem
Using middle click opens in background - so that's OK.
Still cannot reproduce you problem?
Could it be an extension problem - have you checked using Guest Profile ? -
@TbGbe
I checking this with private window (I don't have extension when I using private mode) and same result -
@matiasmovie I guess it might be Windows specific???
Which version of Windows are you running?
with private window (I don't have extension when I using private mode) and same result
OK but guest profile ALSO resets all settings to "default"!?

Hello,
found this topic looking for a solution for this exact problem.When I open multiple tabs on a site (for example opening threads in a forum) when I close the first tab in order to read the next one to the right it skips to the second opened tab after the closed one exactly as the video the topic starter showed.
If I close that then it skips again one tab to activate the second in the row again.
So the closing & activation tabs order goes something like 1-3-5-7-9 etc.As shown in the video if it skips a tab and I click back to the one I wanted (that was next to the tab I just closed) when I close that tab it works as intended for the first time (goes to the first tab on the right) but then closing a tab for the second time it starts skipping again.
Basically it's exactly the same behaviour as the video.
I've checked the "Activate Right in tab order" and tried checking-unchecking the "Always activate related tab" with no success. -
Hello, this also happens to me on Linux. It's very annoying.

Hello, I'm having this same problem and I'm not sure how to fix it. I tested it briefly in a private window and it seemed to operate as I expected, but I don't have any extensions that mess with my tabs so I'm not sure why that is the case. If I close a tab, I want it to activate the tab next to it, or the tab stack next to it. For some reason if I close a tab it will jump to a seemingly random tab. It is infuriating. Picture of my settings below. If anyone could provide some help I would really appreciate it.
Edit: It seems like it's tied to one specific tab stack I have open. For some reason, if I move that stack to a new window, the tabs start behaving like I expect. But with that stack in my main window it constantly switches my active tab back to that stack anytime I close a tab in any other stack or standalone tab. I'm not sure why this is happening, but I've closed that stack for now.

I spotted the very same behaviour as @driftingnarwhal wrote. I have multiple stacks and after the last stack 6 tabs. Whatever stack I close with cmd+w or contextual menu "Close tab" it jumps to last tab in the stack. When closed with mouse X button on tab it goes to the previous tab. Settings are the same.
Another very weird thing is if I am on the last tab in the last stack and use shortcut option+cmd+arrow right (shortcut to next tab in order) it jumps to the very first tab in whole tab panel (first tab is Pinned for me).
