Google refusing to sign in. This browser or app may not be secure.

Hello.
For the last week or so, google refuses to sign me in with vivaldi, although I am signed in youtube in a neighbouring tab. Displays the "This browser or app may not be secure" message. Win 10, latest black Vivaldi.
The reporting page says to "Please ask on the Forum first, if someone else can reproduce the bug.", so here it is.Thanks,

@ZombayDaSilva
Hi, some user report one have to enable "Crypto Token" in vivaldi://settings/privacy/CHeers, mib
-
@mib2berlin
Thank you so much, mib! It worked with the crypto token. -
This issue is very strange. I've had the Crypto Token extension disabled for a very long time (since the option to disable it was introduced in Vivaldi), and have not had any trouble signing in. This must be some new feature, either in Chromium or Google recently changed something in their auth system.
According to what I can figure out, the extension is supposed to be only for authentication with hardware tokens/smart cards.
I hope the Vivaldi team can look into what's causing us to have to enable this otherwise useless extension again. Surely Firefox users can still log in to Google without this "feature" so why can't we?
EDIT: Apparently a user needs either the CryptoTokenExtension or the Chromecast extension enabled for Google sign-in to work. I've reported it as VB-75407, probably will do no good but might as well...

@Pathduck
Ah, I was already thinking about why log in to Google services work for me without C.Token. I use Chromecast in my home and therefor I have it enabled.Cheers, mib

Підтверджую проблему, можливо вдало залогінитися в Google лише коли "Crypto token" або "Chromecast Media-Router" активні.
Translated:
I confirm the problem, it is possible to successfully log in to Google only when "Crypto token" or "Chromecast Media-Router" are active. -
@Krav4uk Hello Krav4uk, thanks for your contribution.
May I ask you to use English on the forum please?
I confirm the problem, it is possible to successfully log in to Google only when "Crypto token" or "Chromecast Media-Router" are active.

The problem I ran into was that using Google search would result in authentication(www.google.com/sorry/index), whether using IPv4 or ipv6, other broswer like EDGE won't show up.
This is not the first time there has been a problem.modedit Split from https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/54509/google-refusing-to-sign-in-this-browser-or-app-may-not-be-secure/

I understand how Google operates on whether authentication is human or not or other....whatever
But I really did nothing but search.
i close all extensions and search again with a different browser just now
vivladi show up , edge is ok, cent browser is ok too
so i am very confused
The last time the same problem occurred was a few months ago,after a while and somehow it didn't appear again. -
@Gwen-Dragon yap,this is an effective method i have tried.But sometimes the Google account is blocked due to frequent IP address changes,I have experienced this.
I just searched for related information, and there are indeed cases where google search in different browsers or different modes is required to be verified.
Google's authentication mechanism is box...really no idea about that -
@winglough
Hi, is it maybe the Crypto Token problem?
Check if it is enabled in Settings > Privacy
Google change something a few days ago.Cheers, mib

I have the issue with one Gmail account, but not with my other Gmail account !?!
Gmail also experienced a worldwide failure at some point yesterday.Something tells me it is no longer to be trusted as a valid email provider.

I get this error, when I try to log into my Gmail account:
I started two days ago. Chrome and Firefox has no problem. I've cleared the local data, disabled the content blocker, tried it in a private window, but no luck.
Anyone can confirm?

Something is not right anyway.
With everything off in privacy, from cloud print to pdf viewer, I was able to get into a google account, but not a second account, nor a third
Well, it seems that if before deactivating the cryptographic token you log in to google accounts (whatever they are), you can deactivate it later and enter those same ones, but not in new ones (a session cookie or something of the style, I don't understand much about it)
-
@Gwen-Dragon Just the Log-in for grumble accounts with Snapshot. I don't use grumble to search.
-
@Stardust
I've searched for gmail but not google. Thanks! -
Not with Google, but I have issues with Bing. If I try to use Bing in searches, it blocks me. Same searching Bing in the net and try to open it. Same in other browsers, include Edge.
Luckily I don't use Bing and neither Google, Yandex nor Yahoo, that's why it doesn't bother me, but it is quite curious.

In Edge in can login to google and in Vivaldi not ! Pls fix that !
