Can't stay logged in anywhere

I'm not sure if cookies are not being properly sent or not being properly saved, but since the most recent update every time I close the browser and re-open, I have to log in to all my sites all over again. Moreover, any site-specific settings are lost as well, so it really seems to be the case that information stored in Cookies (session info perhaps) is either not being saved by the browser or not being sent by the browser to the servers.
All sites are affected, google/gmail, twitter, facebook, everything.
Windows 10, 64bit, desktop app, 3.5.2115.81Edit: I should note, logging in again everywhere and then closing/re-opening the browser clears everything again.

Hi, after update I have to log in again in some pages but only once.
Check settings in privacy if cookies set to "Session only".Cheers, mib

Thanks. I checked and it was still set to All as usual.
Just in case, I unset and reset it.
That seems to have fixed the problem.
So I guess that setting was somehow turned off, even though the settings page had it as on?
Very weird. -
I spoke too soon. Once again this morning when I started my browser up, I was logged out of everything. Again.
Clearly something is messed up. -

Hi, I checked with my stable install on Windows 10, it is a clean profile, and log in to Vivaldi forum. Restart the browser and log in password stay saved.
Open chrome://settings > passwords and check if anything is disabled to save passwords.
Please check with a new profile, you can add one with the profile icon right top.
If it work there to save passwords you can make it to your default profile later.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Thanks, but it's not the password saving that is the problem. It's that sessions are not being saved, which points to an issue with cookies of some sort. I log into e.g. Twitter or Facebook and then close the browser. When I open the browser again, I am not logged into Twitter or Facebook, and have to log in again. It's almost as if ALL windows have become Private windows.

@nightchrome You will need to do some troubleshooting on your side, as this is not expected behaviour.
Please check first Settings > Privacy that cookies are not set to "Session Only" (Or "Never). Also check
chrome://settings/cookies
that "Clear cookies and site data when you quit" is not enabled.Disable all your extensions no matter if you think they don't matter.
Test in a clean profile or a standalone installation.
Make sure you're not running some 3rd-party software that cleans cookies regularly, like CCleaner or similar. Many users have installed stuff like this and are unaware it also installs a cleaner service that runs regularly. Before exiting Vivaldi go to Settings > Privacy, Show saved cookies and filter on a domain where this happens. Note how many cookies are saved for this and subdomains. Exit Vivaldi, then start up again and recheck - are all cookies now gone?

@Pathduck Thanks, I'll do some poking and prodding here.

A little testing and googling leads me to believe this is not a Vivaldi problem but a problem with one of the latest Windows 10 updates. The exact same thing is happening in Chrome and with network credentials as well. Somehow windows is invalidating all credentials for things. I am not even sure how the heck that would even work, but it seems to be happening to others as well.
Edit: It seems to be related to the new Hello sign-in system. It seems either by default or I inadvertently set it to require sign-in after restarts. It seems really weird that Windows can do this to non-OS apps. Currently trying the solution found in this thread, hopefully it solves the problem.

Well, this is probably not related to your problem but on Win 8.1 I had one issue on www.ah.nl, normally I could be logged in for a week, but since a couple of months, it logged me out after 1 or 2 days. I'm guessing the problem is caused by the site itself.

Some Windows Update or external installed program broke Windows encryption with a task, see https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1069383#c90

Glad (well not really glad) to see it's a well-known issue. -
