Link goes to bottom of page
-
In the latest or 2 latest versions, clicking a link often goes to the bottom of the linked page (e.g. Washington Post articles). The same effect is in Chrome but not in Edge or Firefox.

@mesns Hello mesns.
Do you have an example to share with us? I didn't face the same issue.
Can you also tell us if you're speaking about the Stable or the Snapshot version? And, by the way, which version of Windows do you use and if you have extensions installed? -
@Ornorm said in Link goes to bottom of page:
which OS do you use
Probably Windows… It's «Vivaldi for Windows».
But Windows version would be useful.
-
@hlehyaric Indeed. Thanks for specifying this.

3.4.2066.106 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
Win10 Pro 20H2 fully up-to-date
A couple of extensions used for a long time
If the link does not go to the bottom of the page for you, then I will have to look at MS Defender Browser Protection since it is the only extension common to Vivaldi and Chrome. -
@mesns I tried and I saw the title of the page...
-
@mesns Did you try with a private window? Just to see if it gives the same result for you?
-
@Ornorm FWIW, works for me too. A Guest Window may be better suited than a private window, no extensions for sure in a private window.
-
I use vanilla browser--no private page. Something in Chromium has changed and has a problem with something on my machine even tho MS has prevented the problem in Edge. I'll wait for the next update. Thanks
-
@mesns Sorry, I wasn't precise enough in my message.
It was a suggestion to you to try in a private window or, as @hlehyaric suggested, in a Guest Window.
It's just a quick way to "test" with a "clean" window (no extension, etc.) -
@mesns Even in a vanilla browser you can open a private window from the Vivaldi menu or a guest window from the profile manager in
Settings | Address Bar

For giggles I looked to see how to do a private window. It worked correctly. But Vivaldi has always worked correctly with my small set of extensions. I will hope that Chromium modifies 'something'. Not worrying about it any further--got work to do. Thanks again.
