Uninstall Nano Adblocker and Nano Defender
-
@barbudo2005 I guess I retract my statement to check the file lol
-
-
@barbudo2005 I never used either of those, can’t tell.

@barbudo2005
Nano Defender worked in a slightly different way, even if it was a uBo Extra fork (I guess).
It had specific sites scripts which weren't covered by filterlists usually made after opening an issue.
But I can't be sure if it is still useful as I dropped Nano when the native blocker was introduced.
It was effective on defeating site countdowns for example. -
I had installed Nano Defender, to work alongside uBO. Then I disabled it and never saw any difference. I suppose I just don't browse any of the sites for which it was useful, but I then uninstalled it. The only times I see the notice about having an ad-blocker installed are on the first load of a new site with all Javascript disabled. When I enable first-party JS, that goes away but ads still do not appear. I had the same experience while Nano Defender installed & enabled.

@barbudo2005 I added your lists to Vivaldi's own content blocker and was no longer pestered by 'disable your adblocker' messages at the sites I visited, including: https://www.britannica.com/topic/Actaeon

A uBO Team said in Reddit:
-
@barbudo2005 I felt Nano Def was a bit legacy by the way
-
UBO team.???...just remember ublock is being developed by a monetizing former partner of raymond hill (gorhill).
Ublock origin is the extension developed by gorhill and he does not usually identify as "ubo team".
-
@Priest72 The need of a
team tag
is strange but seems to be a legit contributor. -
@Hadden89 no i don't believe that is gorhill taking part in that conversation.Actually i must apologise and stand corrected as UBO does have contributors...i beg your pardon.
-
@Priest72 edit: eh, seems like µblock origin after all. The 2 names are confusing, especially if someone goes around calling themselves uBO team, which could stand for both really.
-
@Priest72 Who knows.... I'm not too much into reddit.
Maybe is just a mod. Only Gorhill can answer but he's there. Would be nice to have him on this forum as it is often quoted ^^, -
@luetage gorhill has advised people not to use the original "ublock" as it has monetizing qualities which gorhill does not agree with,
-
@Priest72 there are several people regularly contributing to uBO, gorhill is obviously the maintainer of his own program, gwarser is the Moderator of the uBO subreddit.
-
@iAN-CooG ok ian and thanks. If this is in relation to "ublock origin" then it is fine but i should re-iterate that "ublock" should not be connected to UBO in any way.
-
Why are you talking about UBlock? Nobody in Vivaldi Forum is using UBlock.
-
@barbudo2005 How would you know that.?
-
@barbudo2005 indeed, I don't see anyone here referring to ublock only.
-
Both gwarser and ublock-user are helping gorhill:
